Hi everyone,
I’m currently planning a gravel build and could really use some real-world input.
I’m looking at running Shimano GRX Di2 (2x12, RX825) but with the RX610 crank (46/30) instead of the standard RX820 crank. The main reason is to get lower gearing for bikepacking and longer climbs.
What’s confusing me a bit is the mixed information around compatibility:

-Initially, Shimano seemed to indicate that RX610 would be compatible with the Di2 setup

-Then there were statements floating around saying it’s not compatible

-And now, in the current official compatibility charts, RX610 is listed as compatible with RX825 again

Because of that, I’m finding pretty split opinions online. Some people say it works perfectly fine, others mention potential issues with front shifting or chainline.
So I wanted to ask:

-Is anyone here actually running GRX Di2 (2x12) with the RX610 crank?

-How is the front shifting performance?

-Any issues with chainline, setup, or long-term reliability?

-Would you recommend it, or is it better to stick with RX820?

For context, this would be on a gravel bike used for bikepacking (loaded riding, steep climbs).
Would really appreciate any first-hand experiences 🙏
