Tips for parking/off-campus parking

Hello :^) i'm an incoming transfer student for fall 26 and i'm getting crazy anxious after hearing about all the parking horror stories here. I'm an art student so i think most if not all of my classes are gonna be in the visual arts complex, are there any free/low cost parking options near there? i saw the nutwood parking structure is closest but i got away with not paying the $70 parking pass at my community college so i would really prefer not paying over $300 a semester just to not find parking or risk getting my car hit. I roller skate often so i don't mind parking somewhere like a 10 min walk away. Thanks in advance!

Almost certain managers are stealing tips, advice?

Pretty much as the title says, I work at a pretty small fast-casual restaurant in California as a cashier/server/food prep. With my old managers they required close staff to write down how much we made that day in card and cash tips, so I was able to see that every day we’d average around $30-$70 in card tips and only a couple coins or dollars in cash tips that we couldn’t keep at the end of the day. We get paid biweekly so I added up two weeks of what the store reported in card tips and split it amongst me and my 6 coworkers and found that we each should have gotten about $90 in tips, but we checked our paychecks from those two weeks to see we each only got around $5-$10 in tips. I wanted to confront my managers about this but they ended up selling the store to a new pair of managers, and I’m convinced they’re doing the exact same thing. We‘ve been making around $50 a night in card tips and yet my last paycheck I only made $7 in tips. As far as I’m aware it’s not divided by hours, we all have around the same amount of hours and even then the discrepancy feels like too much for that to be the case. One of my coworkers asked the old manager about it and she just said that the tips are split amongst the back of house staff as well so that’s why it doesn’t feel like we’re getting a lot. But I did the math accounting for the 5 back of house staff and the numbers still weren’t adding up, we all should have been receiving much more. Is there something I’m missing or is this cause for concern? Both my new and old managers are not the best and have a history with cutting corners like ignoring sexual harassment and telling me I’d be unable to take a break after working for five hours because I was the only front of house worker in the store even though he was the one that asked me to come in earlier. But anyway, what are my next steps here? Am I overreacting? I was planning on asking my managers exactly how they split the tips amongst the workers but I’m afraid they’ll just brush me off like the old managers did. If I ask, are they legally obligated to show me exactly how tips are distributed? Hours are very bad here so every dollar counts, and I can’t help but feel like I’m getting cheated out of extra money with each paycheck I get. Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to make sure I showed all the context since this has been happening for a while. Advice is much appreciated, thank you :•)
