Looking for advice on starting a small export business
Hi everyone,
A friend and I are thinking about starting a small export business. The idea is to source a common, easily available product from our country and sell/export it to another country where there may be better demand or pricing.
We're completely new to importing/exporting, so we'd like to learn from people who have experience in this.
A few things we're wondering:
How did you find reliable buyers in another country?
What products are relatively easy for beginners to export?
What are the biggest problems with customs, regulations, shipping, or payments?
How much starting capital is realistically needed?
Is it better to start with small sample shipments before investing more?
What mistakes should beginners avoid?
