I can't get past the character creation menu because as soon as i press shift to capitalize my name, the game immediately freezes all input. I can't even move my cursor. The music is still playing, the light prompting me to type is still blinking, but everything else is broken. How do i fix this?

I don't even know what happened. I boot the game up like normal, i didn't add any new mods or change any configs in ini files, but all of a sudden my mouse will leave the window, causing my camera to freeze. It is virtually unplayable in its current state. What can I do to fix this?

I'm just about to boot up the game to start my, I think, 7th playthrough, and I genuinely have no idea why I'm so drawn to it. I've played FO4 but it just doesn't give me the same itch to play as New Vegas. Something about the world is so interesting to me, even though I've done the majority of quests and end up doing the same ones time after time. Where did Fallout 4 go wrong to make me not care about it as much?

Something that I really enjoy about New Vegas is that the story doesn't rely on a nuclear wasteland. That just so happens to be the backdrop for all the shit going down. Though the same is generally true for Fallout 4 as well, kind of, Something about it just makes me uninterested in starting a second playthrough. I liked Fallout 4 as I was playing it, but I just don't see myself putting it in my top games of all time like I probably would with New Vegas.

i'm at the hoover dam doing an ncr playthrough, everything is going swimmingly, mowing through the legion, following the quest markers, until i step outside the visitor's center. all of a sudden i gain NCR infamy, fail the dont tread on the bear mission, and the people outside start shooting me? what did i do wrong? what am i supposed to do to get them to not shoot me for seemingly no reason?
