Well, looks like Netflix is reconsidering or at least streamlining its gaming arm.
Night School Studio, acquired in 2021, is canned effective immediately.
Also reports that they’re planning to close their Finnish studio Moonloot.
“A Netflix spokesperson <said> that it was focusing its attention more on party games, story-driven games, games aimed at children and titles with more mainstream appeal”
So more party slop games.
Wondered if anyone has been in this situation, can't find any guidance on the Gov docs. This is supposing Scotland for the claim.
Suppose one had been enrolled on the self-employed UC and deemed gainfully employed. Then consider if that gainful employment had clients, who prepaid in advance for services, e.g. 20 people pay you £500 each for services you would deliver over the next 6-months. The expenses would not be incurred until the services were delivered, so gradually over the 6-months.
The rules state:
>Your total income for a monthly reporting period is all the money you received during that period,
So would that first declaration be £10k, meaning no UC, then for the next 5 months the declaration would be £0 (in fact heavily negative due to expenses).
Even though the client money would be ring-fenced, until services were delivered, it's still been invoiced and paid.
