Car Temps Are Hotter Than You Think (Photo Yesterday)
I keep a little digital thermometer in my car to track the internal temperature year around. I work in Arcadia and unfortunately have to park in an open lot during the day.
People unfamiliar with Phoenix temperatures need to know that Based on reported data, at least 140 animals died from heat-related causes after being left in cars in 2025. The photo is from yesterday (May 11th, 2026). YES it's only May! Last year I recorded an astonishing 155° in a day in July!
Please think of your kids and pets this summer. These are preventable tragedies. Also, think of how long it takes your car's A/C to cool down from 140 to 75 degrees .. A top tip is to roll all of your windows down for a few minutes to get your internal temp down to the outside temp. Your A/C will thank you.
