River Fishing within 2 Hr drive of Phx

Hey everyone, I’m looking for river fishing within a 2 hour drive of Chandler/Mesa. I don’t mind having to hike a few miles alongside the river and would actually prefer the scenic and less crowded spots. If anyone has any advice with where/when to go and what to look for, that’d be greatly appreciated.

Mon Chéri CLOSED, Need recommendations for cutesy places in the valley

Now that Mon Cheri closed 😭 what are everyone’s favorite cute/girly spots around Phoenix?

I loved Mon Cheri for the aesthetic, floral decor, cute drinks, and overall energy. So far I’ve already been to places like The Coronado, The Rose Garden, and 50 Shades of Rosé, all super cute.

What are some other spots around Phoenix/Scottsdale with that same kind of vibe? Could be:
• cute cafés
• aesthetic cocktail lounges
• floral/pink/decor-heavy places
• girls-night type spots

Open to anything with a fun, pretty, cozy, or stylish atmosphere 💕

Car almost goes into a canal, Sun City

Near 99th and Dell Webb in Sun City. Lucky they didn’t go in, this canal is almost always dry. Make me wonder how often this happens. I didn’t see the crash.

Faith in humanity restored. What has you thinking people don't suck?

Today I went to the Bashas on 32nd and Shea to get a few items, plus some cash so I could get some gas. I stopped at the customer service desk to put my reading glasses away, and put on my sunglasses, then headed to the gas station. While there, after digging around in my bag, and looking everywhere in the car, I realized I left my phone...which held ID, cards, and the cash I had just got, at the service desk. 10 minutes later I run into the store and asked the young woman at the desk had anyone turned in the phone. Lo and behold! There it was, with the money obviously sticking out the bottom of my phone case. I am SO grateful to the honest person who gave it to the desk, or even the employee who was working there and saw it. It wasn't a lot of money, but it was all that I had to get some gas that will last me until next week.

What has happened to you recently that gives you a little hope for humanity?

Edit: Awww, I love reading about what's made your day a little brighter! Thanks for the award, too! Continue spreading kindness.

Good makerspaces / electronic admission shops?

Been wanting to get into some tinkering lately (tearing things apart, breadboards, ect.) but cant seem to find any good cheap (on a tight budget) makerspaces or admission shops. Anyone know any good, maybe under the radar, places for this kind of stuff? Thanks!

happy hour here!!!!!

Phoenix used to have great HH deals at nice restaurants and I’ve waiting for them to come back since summer is starting. But now they’re so lame, like Vecina or Flint will be $2 off a dish. Or they end at 5pm, when before it end at 6pm like Postino.
Please share some of your favorite HH deals!

Looking for sandwiches places that have DELI CHICKEN

Hi looking for sub shops that have deli chicken! Not the chicken cutlet/chicken chunks like actual deli sliced chicken like how they do turkey or ham. The only place I have been able to find that offers this is Port of Subs and Which Wich but they are few and far between. Was wondering if anyone knew of any other places?

What Phoenix bands, music, or shows coming up are you excited about? (May)

Share any shows or events coming up that you're excited about!

Could be a local band, someone coming on tour, a great theme night at local venues, a festival... pretty much anything music related you're excited about.

If it's not a well known band then be sure to include their kind of music, who might like them, and anything else of interest.

Fruit trees or bushes for a very shady area?

We have a spot in our bush bed for a new plant. It’s right between two giant bushes that will shade it except for maybe 2 hours out of the day when the sun is directly overhead. To me this seems like an opportunity to plant something that needs a lot of shade. Any suggestions? We’d love to get something edible out of this.

How do coyotes and javelinas get enough water to survive the Phoenix desert?

I see coyotes all the time when I’m out in the preserves. I also see that there is NO water. no creeks or ephemeral streams or springs that I’ve ever seen except very briefly after monsoons — but those are trickles that vanish within hours. I suppose javelinas eat plants, but there’s not a lot of moisture in brittlebush leaves

so…how much water does the average coyote or javelina need to drink every day to stay alive? and where the are they getting it?

Looking for Parent-Child Boxing/jiujitsu/martial arts classes?

My husband is looking for classes to do together with our 4yo son. I have called a few gyms and left voicemails to see if they offer any classes. Any leads? Thanks!
