I am attempting to go out alone tonight, but Im nervous because I always stay inside. Any tips?

I'm 36M and I have almost no night life experience, no experience in bars or clubs, but I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone. I have made a plan to get on the light rail to The Churchill. I have been once before, as well as Taco Chelo down the street but that's about it.

I was thinking of grabbing a drink or two and maybe just walking around. I am trying to make an attempt at socializing, but I'll probably chicken out. I usually just work, gym, kids and sleep. I had a bad break up a few months ago and I am trying to attempt to change my rhythm.

Any advice would be helpful, thanks! :)

EDIT: Thanks so much for all the swift replies! It looks like I have a lot of options! Im goin' to do my best and try not to chicken out. :D

What virus is currently going around?

I know back to school is a common time for us to get ill, but any idea what’s going around right now? We’ve been down in my household with a sore throat, headache, achy muscles, fatigue, and respiratory symptoms. However, our at home tests have been negative for everything.

Tonight Is Night 1 of 3. Valley Metro Light Rail

Tonight is Valley Metro’s first night of open houses for the long awaited West Extension. I’m personally very excited for this extension, as I am for any, but I believe this will be the longest single addition of track.

If you have time tonight please come out and share your thoughts and check out the project. This is the time we get to voice our opinions on how it should be built.

If not tonight there are two other meetings. You can find more info at this link for all open houses.

And finally while it’s early enough please be sure to register to vote and tell your friends and family that live in state to vote. It’s more important than ever to vote in politicians that will approve these extensions.

Where can I buy prickly pear in the valley?

I really want to use prickly pear and an ingredient in a cheese cake but I need prickly pear puree, and I’d rather not substitute with cocktail concentrate or juice.

Anyone know where I can get some fresh prickly pear or even prickly pear purée? Maybe a smaller store, farmers market or something?

Also, once I find some, what are your favorite ways to eat/prepare prickly pear?

Hello Phoenicians!

Just had a lost dog come by my place, had a brown/leather collar but I didn’t get a chance to read it. Friendly dog but didn’t get close for inspection. Pics below. Spotted 5PM.

Today I was temporary detained by a Waymo

I pulled into Nobel Eatery (amazing sourdough bread) As I was pulling out to leave a waymo pulled up behind me a man got out. The. The car just sat there. I slowly backed up and it just honked at me. 5 minutes later the man came out and said it was his Waymo and he thought it would park and wait for him to return. He then went back into the store. I attempted to back up slowly again and it honked again but didn't move. There were at least 7 open parking spots around me. This damn thing didn't move until the guy got back in.

Bathroom remodel? Does anyone have a recommendation?

Do any of you have a contractor or company you can recommend to perform a pretty basic bathroom remodel?
My parents are too old to be hopping in a tub, so I want to convert to a walk in. The sinks and toilets could also benefit from being updated.
Thanks!

Share a local business you think deserves some extra love and promotion.

Hair stylist? Tattoo artist? Realtor? Plumber? Thrift store? Mechanic? Gym? Whoever you love, give them a shout out here.

Be sure to explain what you love about them, where they are in the valley, and any other details to help people check them out.

ANPR Cameras Tempe Marketplace

I know this is in Tempe, but I just seen a car with ANPR camera driving around the parking lot capturing everyone’s information. Is this something that’s been going on around the valley?

Vet recommendations for surgery

Hi everyone! My dog is in need of surgery and I am hoping for any recommendations of vets who you trust around the area (or outside of phoenix) Currently looking for a vet who is caring, thoughtful and can make sure our pup is comfortable. Additionally, any info on general pricing (on the more expensive side or willing to work with a payment plan) would be very helpful! Thank you guys! :)

Valley Metro: Buses with No AC

For all my bus riders and transit foamers out there. Have you noticed that some buses have been running with minimal to No AC? I noticed that some of the 5100-5200 Gilligs struggle during the summer with the AC. Especially if those buses run from the South Phoenix Yard. The West Phoenix Yard actually those buses run good AC. Just an observation. Not sure about the Valley Metro Tempe or Mesa Yard buses. Those I had no AC issues with those.
