Place to order rings from QUICKLY?

Hey all! I sell my chainmail at art markets and ran out of stock faster than I thought I would. Now I’m out of rings and need more …. quickly 😅

I usually order from MD but since they’re in Canada and I’m in the U.S. I was afraid they wouldn’t come in time. I went with WGM instead and ordered on Tuesday, but the order is still processing 5 days later and I need them like, today 😭

So I know this is a long shot but does anyone know where I can get rings (stainless steel) asap? Like some magical Amazon seller that has saw cut rings? I’ve even considered making my own rings but I don’t actually know how to do that and fear I would just be wasting my time / money.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I feel like my stimming just stresses me out?

I’ve been doing a deep dive into stimming recently and am getting confused - it seems like stimming is supposed to feel regulating in some way, but it seems like mine just cause me more stress / drive me crazy?

Not always - for instance, I do this thing where I like, vibrate my legs or my whole body, and that feels good. Same with bouncing my legs, picking at my cuticles, or wiggling around when I’m eating something yummy 😆

But the stims I do most often do NOT feel regulating and it’s making me wonder if maybe I’m doing them for a different reason?

Examples of “stims” that annoy me or cause stress: jaw gnashing to songs in my head, tiny mouth movements, finger flicking / rubbing / scratching, doing the same thing with my toes … during all of these I’m also often tensing my entire body and breathing more shallowly / holding my breath.

So anyway, I guess I’m just wondering if I’m waaaay overthinking stimming, or if this might be movement due to some other reason? Part of me also wonders if these movements only cause me stress because I never realized I did them and now that I’m aware of them, I feel like I have no control over my body / my body is betraying me in some way? I’m not on any medications that would cause a movement disorder, and I CAN stop these movements but I don’t typically notice I’m doing them until they start to cause me discomfort.

Bright aluminum rings for a lamp shade - what to expect with tarnishing?

I’m making a lamp shade and need approximately 7,000 rings to complete this project (🙃). I wanted to do brass or AA but oh lord the price is killing me.

I’m now considering using bright aluminum, but I’ve never used it before (I usually stick to SS). If I’m making a piece like this that won’t be handled much, what can I expect as far as tarnish over time? I don’t mind the idea of having a tarnished metal (which is why I thought brass would be neat) but I just don’t know what to expect as far as look, speed of tarnishing, etc. This is a lamp I’ll be selling so I want to make sure I know what I’m getting into!

So - can anyone give me an idea of what to expect visually with bright aluminum rings used for this purpose? Even better if someone has a picture example!!!!

TIA!

What glue to use for glass cabochon + stainless steel bezel?

Hey all! I’ve searched the internet and Reddit for a good answer to this and I’m still not sure the best route to take-

I’m making pendants using stainless steel bezel trays with glass cabochons, and placing a small cut-out from a vintage kids book in between as the image. The paper is relatively sturdy.

I picked up some e6000 to use on the paper + metal, and modpodge for the paper + glass. I plan on testing this first to make sure it doesn’t cloud up or dry weird, BUT does anyone have a go-to method other than this? Or have you tried this method and had good results? I don’t want to ruin any of my irreplaceable cut-outs 😅

TL;DR - what’s the best way to adhere paper between a stainless steel bezel tray and a glass cabochon?

To smash or not to smash?

I’m making my first little chainmail rings and was curious if anyone has ever tried hammering the finished ring to flatten / shape it? Aka slip it onto a ring mandrel and gently hammer it flat against the mandrel. Part of me thinks it will just break apart but it could be cool if it worked?

Photo is of the ring “unsmashed” (stainless steel 22 AWG)
