My landlord is asking me to sign an addendum to my lease that would increase my rent by $200 per month and remove my access to the in-home washer located in the basement.

When I asked via text why I would be losing access to the laundry, she responded that she is “changing the apartment and planning basement remodeling and repairs.”

I am looking for legal help reviewing and potentially negotiating the terms of this lease change. At minimum, I would like assistance changing the required notice period from 60 days to 30 days so that, if I do need to move, I am not forced to pay for an extra month of rent. Most apartments require tenants to move in with only 30 days notice, which makes the current 60-day requirement financially difficult and impractical.
