Savagegeese 2026 Lexus IS350 | Why Is This Still Made?

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNfZWdxnGRU

They didn't have very many positive thoughts

"Like they've just milked this thing to death"

"I don't know why it's still made. I cannot figure out why this car is still in production. There's no way they sell many of these. It it it just this is the makes no sense to me. It it didn't make sense to me 5 years ago. Like we're excluding the V8 version, but all the rest of these they've halfhearted updated this thing"

"Now everything in this class, it may not be as reliable as this car. And you're the one who always harps on me. What if I just want to buy a car that lives and lasts forever? Then you go and buy a 10-year-old version of this for half the price. Like what they're commanding for how much they've milked this car"

"this is not worth any of that money. If you're an enthusiast, which this is what this is supposed to be for somebody that's like Japanese drunk and falls into a Lexus dealership, it's like, "Oh I can only afford 50,000." You go and buy an Integra. You go and buy, you know, I could count all the other cars you would buy for 50,000 over this thing. It's just it sucks, dude. It's It sucks"

"The Takumis are disappointed. I I'm disappointed, dude"

> Other cars to consider are the BMW M2, Acura Integra Type S, Audi RS3, GR Corolla, and Golf R.

I quite like the look of the update personally, but as much as I'd like to love this era of Japanese sporty sedans I never really got along w/ the tlx/is/rc, as they mention just sort of half-assed cars for what they think NA likes

Veilance Voronoi Wool Blend Review + Comparison/Thoughts on rest of the Veilance lineup

Recently purchased these Voronoi Wool pants from the outlet shop, Haven't seen anyone talking about it thus far so thought I would do a quick review, along w/ rest of the veilance lineup. I tried on the other pants, but only bought the voronoi, so it will be very surface level on the others

Paid substantially less than the going rate but I imagine most people are going to get it for the standard ~$350 outlet rate so will review it with that in mind, assume a little bit of discount on all of these, they're like always available in outlet in every size.

The only old veilance pant I own is the Align, otherwise it is shirts & shells.

Currently, the veilance lineup has 6 formal-passable pants. From Highest->Lowest, Indisce MX, Voronoi (+ Wool), Spere, DiodeMX & the Align MX.

Of these, the Voronoi is now the only wool-blend offering. The Indisce is Terratex, the Spere/Diode/Align are all Burly, & the standard Voronoi is Fortius, there are no longer any gore pants, due the discontinuation of ePTFE & thus the Windstopper line

All still feature cobrax & ykk (excella?) hardware, so they aren't skimping there yet

ALL of these fit roomier. Keep in mind I am a 28-29 waist & I usually get my pants ready-to-wear then hemmed, so patterns don't perfectly transfer over, the Align & Indisce are the slimmest, but they are all on the regular side. I wouldn't build a wardrobe out of them, I wouldn't wear them to any serious event, several are swishy as hell, buy a 'real' pair of pants

- The diode is warmer & more casual, it uses terratex in some areas alongside the burly, different cut to the rest, waist adjustment, it is the most casual out of that bunch, I don't have any interest in it due to the pocket arrangement but I think it is a well engineered garment & quite fun. Keep in mind the straighter cut makes it even swishier as the fabric brushes against itself

Honestly I have no idea why someone would get the spere. For formals it is baggy, the drawcord shows creases at the top, but its warm for a casual pant, & pricer than the align. I like the pocket arrangement, but wouldn't get it over the align

- The align is then fantastic, they haven't fucked it up, its a slimmer fit, fits exactly as described, the same burly fabric, the lowest price out of the bunch, it is swishy but not obnoxiously so, zippered pockets are fantastic, extremely versatile, I would recommend it w/o hesitation, like this & a downsized field are still token veilance

- Indisce is the other one I would consider, slimmer fit, very flexible, you can throw it in a standard wash/dry, its no windstopper but its a durable/breathable fabric, pockets don't get in the way of sitting, if you're fine with the tag it does nothing wrong, not as good as the old field pant maybe, but its a proper veilance piece

- Standard voronoi is another one I don't get as much, its roomier than before but still tappered, almost looks like a barrel pant but not quite, but also sits higher on the waist, so not as modern. The fabric isn't quite as durable, & will pill between your legs. Construction doesn't feel quite as nice as the older voronois, anecdotally. Can't really recommend them. Also, it is not the same black. These used to be terratex, I believe, I think that is a better suited fabric

- Then the Voronoi Wool, these are mid to good, much better suited fabric than the fortius & combined w/ the patterning incredibly maneuverable, wish the fabric was burlier than anything but would be less breathable. Same barrel issue. Irons well, no crotch creases, accessible pockets. Wouldn't recommend for the price, but worth taking a look.

I personally go to the SoHo store, which has complementary hemming & does a fantastic job of it so didn't comment on length, but keep that in mind if you have a flagship store nearby

2026 Dodge Durango | V8 Only, What Could Go Wrong?

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJSIQ1mg7uQ

"We discuss the updated 2026 Dodge Durango RT, which starts at around $50,000. There are very few affordable 3 Row V8 SUVs available, and this beast should scratch that itch. We discuss some of the details in this follow-up video. Others to consider are the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, VW Atlas, and Mazda CX-90"

This car, as with any stellantis product, gets quite a bit of hate on the internet for being Old & American & whatnot, but as they illustrate its a fairly solid product & a unique offering in that segment.

When this gen launched in '11 the cheapest v8 Durango was $36k, its $43k today, that same $36k is $55k in today money. & for that money you're getting a 3-row BoF known quantity thats genuinely capable in regards to towing etc, comes with a 10yr warranty, & its genuinely good fun at times.

Might need the warranty as they still haven't sorted out the electrics, but a base grand highlander w/ nothing on it starts at 41, a sequoia at 61, $50k for a GH w/ cooled seats, & you can find these in the mid-high 30s if you're fine with the totally adequate pentastar

& You'll have parts availability for the next century

Therme vs. Field Jacket comparison, kept the Field

Was recently shopping for a more formal daily jacket I could wear to work,

personally a big fan of perked/upright collars as I have a taller & wider neck that looks odd on its own & a traditional hood gets in the way of messenger bag straps, driving, etc., so I was shopping for something with the stowaway hood

traditionally that would leave you with just the field jacket, but this season they introduced the mainline therme jacket, which is surprisingly restrained for a mainline piece, thought I could get a field jacket for 30% off

It is not that, fit is quite different, they're both marked 'regular' & the general dimensions are similar but my chin would be quite snug in the therme small, with a roomy belly & shorter shoulders, whereas the field jacket was consistently roomy. I downsized the field to an XS & it fits perfecty, captures my chin & I can still fit a fleece

The therme has knit cuffs, you might like that, I dont as it catches on watches etc. & tears up, also has a cinch hem, I do prefer that as its easier to access pockets & easier to sit even if it is more casual

Obviously the fabrics are different, therme is 70d c-knit throughout, the field is 75x150d pro (iirc i.e. 75d lengthwise & 150D across?) The therme is nicer on skin. but I still prefer the pro overall, gives the collar far more structure, looks fantastic in the sun, it isn't that restrictive

(maybe its also more or less breathable/durable/etc., theres too little temperature differential right now to tell)

But just wanted to point out for anyone shopping between the two, I personally sprung for the field, & keep in mind I did grab it with a discount so the gap was smaller, but I think it justifies the gap over the therme well. Obviously you are paying a fair bit of formal tax over the beta ar/sl/etc. though...

(& as someone who isn't the biggest fan of ePE, even though I'd argue the material in technical properties is still inferior to the old Field SV, I think it is uniquely well-suited to the field & I do prefer it overall over the 3L ePTFE 70d version of this jacket from '22-'23 (?))

Where it might not be as breathable as the previous gen, it does wet out eventually, I imagine due to properties of pe+pu the DWR isn't baked on as strong & will need application, but unlike an alpha its a city jacket, it can exchange some function for form, & they've had a bit of fun with it, while also being way less crinkly

(specifically regarding veilance I'm not the biggest fan of the velcro cuff, there were a lot of concerns regarding quality after switching to supply from china, I will say it looks to be put together better than my candian-made shells,

I asked someone from arc a while back & they mentioned they saw Canadian-made alpha SV's had higher failure rates than the chinese shells, obviously that might just be sampling, take that for what you will)

but if you arent attached to the style of either, the beta sl/ar are technically superior and/or cheaper

Rant, the matter produces absolutely suck

New RGB Kajplats bulbs aren't anywhere close to red even at full brightness, but especially as they dim. Far less accurate than the Zigbee/Tradfri bulbs I had lying around the house. (albeit better at white spectrum). But then the white spectrum matter bulbs look like radioactive piss yellow at warmer temperatures

Far from the only issue though, the rgb bulb & bilresa remote were impossible to pair. Needed to reset them multiple times, dance around my router/hub, move them back once thats done, the bulb is stable, the remote goes to sleep & requires I hardware reset it when it does. replaced it, same issue

The saving grace is I can just run the remote in zigbee mode, but why is the matter/thread implementation so half baked? Even as zigbee devices some of these feel like downgrades

Worth noting
- I have several other 3rd party matter products, both wifi & thread, running w/o issue on that hub
- I bought a set of the previous gen white spectrum bulbs from the as-is section & they had no issue pairing and running

That's pretty much the entire question, i can't find a single bulb that can fit into my current fixture & adapt throughout the day while retaining quality

all the standard bulbs seem to fall off a cliff at colder temperatures

anything up to like $50 a bulb, the communication protocol matter/thread/etc doesn't matter as long as at it's something consumer

all the offerings in the space seem to be either e26, par10, etc or integrated fixtures
