Living as someone’s bitch

How narcissistic is this exchange?
Her: I thought you were making changes.
Me: I have and I’m trying. But what I won’t do is live as your bitch.
Her (angry): Well, after what you’ve done to me for 30 years, it’s the only way and it’s not even enough.
Me: 😵‍💫

It’s like quitting a drug …

As a pretty much lifelong pot smoker with a years-long effort of quitting, one of my other Reddit forums is r/leaves … I can’t help but notice the parallels… People posting about how hard it is to get away from it, I feel like I wasted 30 years of my life, my life is empty without it, why am I drawn to something that hurts me. Several times since joining here I had to doublecheck which subreddit the headline is from!

Husband seeking help

Hi, I just joined here and I’m wondering how to optimize any support I can get. I’m an almost 52-year-old husband of 30 (!) years with surprisingly young children, girls age 14 and 7. At the current moment,my wife insists, begs, berates me daily that I need to move out, find a place, not be around her. But at the same time, I’m supposed to be here at night because the little one, who is autistic, is severely dependent on me for sleep. The last couple of business trips I had to take - I have my own business and am the sole breadwinner and my biggest money is made on these occasional, but sometimes long trips - she didn’t sleep, making my wife’s, grandma’s and her sister’s life hell. Hence, the “solution” is that I find an apartment but for now come home for sleep. And also don’t go on the next scheduled trip two weeks in September. This is completely unacceptable to me, so I’m living in complete hell. My wife routinely rages and berates me in front of the kids. What I don’t know is how I can get help; last year I did an expensive “man” program with no results. The last months I’ve “talked” to Claude AI. Everything always revolves around the question “Is she a narcissist?” But of course I’ve been a pretty shtty husband myself, but I’ve tried to better myself, too. How can I get help here? If I keep typing my story I’ll create a book, like I did with Claude! Which btw keeps advising that I need a lawyer and a therapist. Which for some reason is a step I CANNOT take. I don’t know if it’s just the cost or the misplaced hope that things could be different, or the fear of change and loss, of facing the truth, the regret. What would you all like to know so you can help me?
