Explaining the registration time slot system

Because there's so many freshmen that are now getting their registration times and keep asking "is this good?" or other similar questions, I think it's good to teach y'all how registration slots actually work, namely because this isn't widely shared by cmu despite being kinda important.

So, to start all students are split into 4 groups, you will be in these groups for your entire time at cmu. Each group will be randomly assigned into registration section 1, 2, 3, or 4. These registration sections designate which time your registration time will be.

Section 1: 8:00-10:00
Section 2: 10:00-12:00
Section 3: 12:00-2:00
Section 4: 2:00-4:00

Your time will be randomly selected at a 15minute increment within your time slot. So someone in section 4 who got a time of 2:15 actually got lucky with their time, not unlucky.

The catch is, each semester the groups will rotate their time section next semester, move up the list. So section 3 becomes section 2 and section W2 becomes section 1 until section 1 becomes section 4. This forms a loop that'll cycle every semester you're at cmu. So for example, if you have a time of 12:30 this semester, that's means you're in section 3 and guarantees that you'll have a time in 10:00-12:00 next semester.

This semester means, that with vary little variation, you'll know exactly how good of a registration time you'll have each semester and can plan accordingly. I recommend trying to take more popular classes when you know you're going to have a good time and get the easy to get in classes out of the way while you're going to have a bad time anyways.

Hope this clears things up!

Saros Possession instakill against exo mechs?

Hi I've been playing through calamity for the first time blind and I've been thoroughly enjoying it. I've been playing summoner and I just got the saros Possession weapon which is sick af. I used it to fight the exo mechs and it just like absolutely obliterated them in a few seconds? Like it doesn't seem to normal just deal that much damage, but I was using it and all the sudden they died in like 3 seconds of me using the beam on them. Some sort of bug perhaps? Something with hitting multiple segments? Or is the weapon just absolutely op?

Please tell me they're gonna expell him permanently sometime soon

For those who don't know literally every single one of the problematic and drama causing fences have been the work of one singular class of 2028 student. He got suspended last semester for threatening to kill cops at an on campus event, and now that he's back he's causing problems again. The scale of the drama caused makes it seem like a large portion of the student body is fighting against cmu but it literally the work of one singular student and the majority of the student body is sick of it. There's a reason there was little to no fence drama last semester and then it starts again the second he came back. We're all sick of it.

Update: I have been informed that the student in question has since transitioned since she got suspended from campus. So congrats to her for coming out and transitioning, however it doesn't make me think she's any less of a performative asshole who's going to make the entire student body suffer for her actions.

Yeah yuta probably beats Jotaro. (Although its closer to mid/high diff imo if both fighters act in character) but prime Joseph Joestar absolutely steam rolls yuta.

Yuta when he uses cursed speech to till Joseph to die but Joseph missheard him say "pie" so he throws a pie in his face, which also activates the 67 grenades he hid behind Yuta's back when he wasn't looking.

Dimensional scalers when you tell them to go no-diff a black hole. (It's 1D, and they're 3D so it should be easy)

Guy in comments places characters in a special designed arena which remove's one of their abilities

Guy got upset that Goku would loose a fight, so he proceeded to say the fight would take place in a completely empty void which fully removes his opponent's abilities. Thinks this a "fair" way to do a matchup.

I'm dying 💀😭

You cannot show a character is FTL by having them out run light.

Ok so, this is gonna get a crazy amount of hate because people love to wank characters to FTL at any chance they get, and most powerscalers barely have an elementary understanding of physics.

Yes the title sounds very counter intuitive but it's true, let me explain. The main issue that people have with their ftl believes is because people miss understand what "lightspeed" is. To clarify, "lightspeed" or "the speed of light" is a title given to the speed 299 792 458 m/s. The meaning this specific number gets a special name is because it is the fastest speed that anything can move in the real world. Notably, light moves at this speed, hence the name. However, the very very important thing that people fail to understand is that "the speed of light" is not a property of light. Its a property of the universe we are in. It is the speed limit of the universe, and light only happens to move at the speed, becuase it's the fastest it can go. If you were to put light into a universe with a different "speed limit" or no limit at all, light would no longer move at 299 792 458 m/s, becuase that speed isn't a property of light, it was a property of the universe we are in.

Now, onto the implications of power scaling, that proves 90% of ftl wank scaling wrong. This means one of 2 things if something in a show moves faster than light.

Or

  1. The "light" in question, isn't actually light and/or light in this universe operates differently from real world light. (This is usually the case for most lasers, etc, in fiction) the same case appies where since this isn't really world light, we cannot assume it travels at a constant 299 792 458 m/s, and thus you cannot use that as a reference for it's speed.

Note: this doesn't apply to characters that explicitly have abilities that bypass the laws of physics (flash) or are scaled to ftl speeds by some method other than out speeding light itself.

TLDR: Either "light speed" as a concept applies to a universe as a concept and you can't have anything ftl, or it doesn't, and light no longer moves at "light speed", you can't pick and choose.

Edit: This is going exactly how I expected it to lol. I do love the the stark difference in comments made right after posting (before anyone would've had time to actually read the post all the way) and the comments made later which clearly actually understood what was being said before throwing a fit.
