What's Tbar like these days?

Hi guys,

Toowoomba girl here, deciding whether to move home. I've been in Scotland for 4 years and had some Brissie years before then. I grew up in Toowoomba but my family all moved away and scattered to the 4 corners of Australia, so there's no way of being close to all of them simultaneously (I refuse to move to Sydney!). I have a few friends kicking about and Toowoomba is the place that feels most like home for me in Oz.

Housing affordability is the thing that scares me. I could probably find a job in my industry and be earning around $110k a year, within a few months. It looks like Toowoomba has become radically more expensive in the last few years but with a few years of renting and saving, I could hopefully do it.

From your perspective, what's Toowoomba like compared to 5 and 10 years ago? Has it changed as much as people say, or is it still mostly the community-minded, garden-filled big country town we know and love? Does it feel like you're scraping by, or is cost-of-living still better there for you than in Bris?

Popcorn opened and thanks for your thoughts :)
