Apple Store Robina

I was sitting in the Apple Store at Robina the other day waiting for my laptop to be repaired, and while I was waiting I couldn’t help overhearing a few interactions between the Genius staff and customers.

Honestly, I was a bit surprised. There were a number of different customers being helped around me, and the level of snark and dismissive attitude from some of the staff really stood out.

I know retail isn’t an easy job, but I remember when walking into an Apple Store felt exciting. The staff were enthusiastic, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping people. These days the atmosphere just feels flat.
The two biggest offenders both made a point of telling customers they’d been there for more than 10 years, almost as if that justified their attitude.

Maybe Apple needs to start sending in mystery shoppers because that famous Apple customer experience seems to have disappeared, at least at Robina. It honestly felt like the customer service training came from Kogan rather than Apple.

For the record, my own issue was resolved without any problems, so this isn’t a complaint about my repair. It’s simply an observation after sitting there for about an hour watching how other customers were treated.

I’m still a huge fan of Apple products. I’m just not convinced by the customer service at Apple Robina anymore.
