Accidentally created a female founders group

So 10 days ago I posted here complaining about having to put myself out there, on social media, do promotion and so on and how I was a digital hermit with 2,5 photos online.

That thread accidentally led to a creation of a WhatsApp (support) group for female founders who need to start promoting their business. There's currently over a dozen of us, and I'm still getting DMs from women asking to join. So, I figured I'd post about this again.

If joining something like this interests you, send me a DM (and tell me a bit about yourself, I need to figure out if you're real and not 3 scammers in a trench coat 😂 )

If this post is not allowed I'll take it down, but I'm not really selling or promoting anything and honestly I never had any intention of creating a group, but here I am, and we're having our first Zoom meetup on Friday.

Maybe I should be building a community app, instead of a SaaS. 😂

Your experiences with EU investors?

Curious to know if anyone here has raised pre-seed with EU-based investors/VC funds and what have your general experiences been? Any advice or recommendations?

Ugh...self-promotion, how do you do it?

I'm at a point where I know I have to put myself out there more and generate more buzz and interest for the things I'm building. However, as someone who literally has two an a half photos of myself online and basically just lurks across most social media, how do I get things going when I'm basically an online hermit?

I'm in the middle of building a B2B SaaS (and a whimsical journaling app as a side project) so social media probably has moderate effect.

Any podcasts I can do? Female focused?
Any other women-focused communities?
LinkedIn is chock full of AI generated "Building in public" posts that make me want to claw my eyes out.

Any advice, how are you putting yourself and your product out there?

How did you find your first design partners ? (I will not promote)

I'm building a B2B SaaS product for product teams and we're approaching the stage where we're thinking about design partners. I'm not looking for customers yet or trying to sell anything, just thinking of strategies while the product is being built.

So, for those of you who've gone through this:

  • How did you actually find your first design partners?
  • Did you reach out through LinkedIn, founder communities, your own network, Reddit, cold email, or somewhere else?
  • Did you offer anything in return (free access, discounts, influence over the roadmap, etc.)?
  • What made people say yes?
  • Looking back, what would you do differently?

I'd especially love to hear from founders building B2B SaaS.

Thanks in advance!

Investors, what are some classic mistakes founders make when pitching to you?

Curious to know what are the most common mistakes founders make that kills their chances.

What puts you off when you look at a pitch deck versus what makes you stop and go "hmm, I want to know more"?

What personality traits make a founder a hard no versus a hell yes?

Specifically in regards to pre-seed/and seed where a lot of it depends on the product itself and the impression the founders leave on you.

How many investors did you contact?

Before getting your first yes?

For those who have raised capital especially in the pre-seed/seed stage, how many doors did you approximately have to knock on to get your first yes? Well aware that the rule of thumb is to knock on a 100 doors in order to get your first yes.

But I am curious to know if any of you got there more quickly, and importantly, what does your startup do (industry/problem it solves)? Asking because I'm curious did your startup's main focus/industry get you there more quickly? Or was it persuasiveness, warm intros or anything else?

Give us some success stories! :)

Spanish startups, your experiences?

Curious to know if there are any Spanish incorporated startups, what are your experiences?
What are the downsides? Any upsides or do you wish you had just incorporated in Delaware/Estonia/UK?

Appreciate hearing your two cents.

Anyone here with a product management background?

If so, I would love to connect! I'm building something in this space and I will inevitably need feedback and to pick someone's brains. In return, if you need design (ui/ux) advice for your projects, a review or anything that falls into my regular field of expertise, I'm happy to help out. 😄

I'm working on a app/SaaS project and I'm reaching the point where I need to incorporate.

For a variety of personal reasons Spain is the place I'm considering to incorporate this startup in, but I'm not going to do this if the cons outweigh the pros.

So what are your experiences?

I know it's not impossible to run a successful startup out of Spain (TypeForm is in Barcelona for example, Glovo etc.), but I'm wondering if other solutions/locations offer more (networking, investment, grants, cost of running business).

The UK for example maybe, or doing the cliche thing and incorporating in Delaware.

How interested are EU/UK investors in Spanish startups or do they prefer them to be located elsewhere.

Thank you!
