Headed to Yosemite next week and I’m really hoping to hike up to Glacier Point via the Panorama Trail if the air quality permits. I’m curious how other people have gotten to the Panorama trailhead. Is it a mistake to skip Nevada Falls by taking the cutover to JMT to shorten the hike? Same question about Vernal Falls (should we do JMT the entire way up or part of it on Mist)?

I’m conscious of the fact that depending on the day we may have no choice to do JMT to start because the beginning of the part of the Mist Trail I have highlighted in green is closed on weekdays.

EDIT: Reading the comments I could be convinced to switch the direction of the hike.
