Emergency helicopter and police near pitzhanger - anyone know what’s happened?

Saw this helicopter while walking in the park, then spotted a road closed and police cars around Kent Gardens.

Spoke to the pilots - didn’t ask what was going on as I figured that was inappropriate. Really nice chill guys. Then I spotted the road closure as I kept walking.

Not sure if they are related - I saw paramedics heading back to the helicopter from the general direction of the closed road so it seems likely they are. I hope no one is seriously hurt.

Recent additions (charity shop finds!)

Just picked up a small group of late 19th / early 20th century esoterica, comparative religion, and Theosophy-related books/pamphlets! A little bit niche and I’ve not read them yet, but if anyone knows anything about these, I would love to learn more.

The books are:

Esoteric Buddhism — A. P. Sinnett
Fourth Edition, 1885
Trübner & Co., Ludgate Hill, London

Theosophy — Rev. C. C. Martindale, S.J.
1945 (Studies in Comparative Religion No. 35)
Catholic Truth Society, London

Spiritualism and Theosophy — Arthur W. Osborn, M.C.
Lecture delivered May 1926 / later Solar Publications issue
Ruskin Press / Solar Publications

Phallism: A Description of the Worship of Lingam-Yoni…
Privately Printed, London, 1889

(Don’t judge me too much on the last book! 😂).

Scored a fun collection of esoteric books …. Thoughts?

Just picked up a small group of late 19th / early 20th century esoterica, comparative religion, and Theosophy-related books/pamphlets and thought this would be a great place to share!

I would love to know if anyone here has more context on them, particularly around rarity, history, topics. These were all charity / thrift shop finds, and I am looking forward to reading them (carefully!).

The books are:
1. Esoteric Buddhism: A. P. Sinnett
Fourth Edition, 1885
Trübner & Co., Ludgate Hill, London

2. Theosophy: Rev. C. C. Martindale, S.J.
1945 (Studies in Comparative Religion No. 35)
Catholic Truth Society, London

3. Spiritualism and Theosophy: Arthur W. Osborn, M.C.
Lecture delivered May 1926 / later Solar Publications issue
Ruskin Press / Solar Publications

4. Phallism: A Description of the Worship of Lingam-Yoni…
Privately Printed, London, 1889

I’m struggling to find out much about the Phallism book as it is privately printed. Anyone seen this before?

Curious about this signature on a glass ‘pear’. ChatGPT and Google gave me nothing. It’s a pretty colour and caught my eye - I’m a magpie for pretty things.

It was advertised as ‘Murano Style’ (charity shop / thrift store), which is standard as they do not want to over promise when they are not expert. But it could be tourist tat.

Was hoping you lovely people could help :)
