Recommendation for emergency set up

Won't go into war stories, but I lived through Hurricane Helene which was devastating for my community. One of the scariest parts was the lack of ability to communicate with family or friends, or to have access to news. Please advise me on a set up, preferably not too expensive, that can accomplish these goals:

  1. I am in Asheville, and I need to be able to reach nearby mountain towns, (including some extremely remote locations) as well as be able to reach people in Charleston, SC.

  2. I would also like to be able to send and receive texts, emails, and even pics or videos via radio.

For each of these goals, keep in mind the possibility of decimated infrastructure (either in Western NC, or Charleston SC). What is my best beginner set up for a newly licensed technician? Also, given my stated goals, what are some frequencies I should program into my radio?

Recommendation for physical therapist in Asheville who could help with tweaked intracostal (or back?)

I hurt my back/side about 2 weeks ago while using a pick axe, and it is not getting better. I ask here because I know sometimes there are people who specialize in certain things…anyone have any recs? I have blue cross blue shield.

Lost labels…what type is this?

I planted pepper box, Peshawar, Turkish red, and Icelandic all in the same bed but separated by labels but then the labels and division between each got lost, and I’ve forgotten the order…so what is your best guess for what this one is out of what I’ve listed???

premature blooms still have viable pods?

These were sown way too close together with tons of clumps and they were not thinned out until just recently when many of the stalks were about a foot tall. Most of these 1 foot tall stalks have small pods that have already formed...This is disappointing bc it seems like this means these plants will be stunted and not grow taller, however are the pods still viable?
