I need to know what kind of wood is this.

My partner and I work in lutherie, and we prioritize sourcing reclaimed wood—specifically Brazilian Rosewood (*Dalbergia nigra*).

We bought a bed advertised as being made of Rosewood, but when we cut into it, we didn't detect that characteristic scent (anyone familiar with the wood knows it well). However, the grain and figure look very similar; the wood is very strong, heavy, and hard.

A Google Lens search suggested it might be Pau-Ferro, Peroba-rosa, or Sucupira, but we haven't been able to confirm any of these with 100% certainty.

We would appreciate opinions from anyone who works with wood. We would also be grateful for any tips on identifying Brazilian Rosewood in particular.

Preciso saber que madeira é essa

Boa noite pessoal!

Obrigada!
