The NBA announced that Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat), Harrison Barnes (San Antonio Spurs), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Tobias Harris (Detroit Pistons) and Larry Nance Jr. (Cleveland Cavaliers) have been selected as the five finalists for the 2026 NBA Social Justice Champion award.

“We are heartbroken to share that Jason Collins, our beloved husband, son, brother and uncle, has died after a valiant fight with glioblastoma.”

NEW YORK, May 5, 2026 — Boston Celtics guard-forward Jaylen Brown has been fined $50,000 for public criticism of the officiating, it was announced today by James Jones, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

Brown made his comments on a livestream on May 3 following the Celtics' 109-100 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series on May 2 at TD Garden.

Celtics had 19 assists on 37 made field goals in Game 7. They scored two points in the final 3:49 after getting within a point (a meaningless Pritchard layup with 10 seconds left). On their own floor, they trailed by as many as 18 and led by 1.

The playoffs are a different game.
