No compensation for temp training relocation
Not really looking for solutions(if any) but just venting a small part.
Got the job for the ABS in Melbourne branch and I’m super happy BUT, there’s a 2 week compulsory training in Geelong. No compensation not even travel compensation:(.
I guess there’s am nothing I could really do just gotta suck it up for 2 weeks.
JUST GOT THE CONFIRMATION CALL!
OMGGG I DID IT I JUST GOT THE CONFIRMATION CALL IM SO HAPPY AND GLADD!! YIPEEEEEE. CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!!!
My training starts mid aug in Geelong ahhhh. I wonder if anyone here also happens to get the same blessing ??
Ahhhh so excited can’t wait to start this new chapter!
One week holiday right after training period
Im just waiting on getting an offer but hypothetically, if I do get the offer I realised that i have a one week holiday lined up RIGHT after 2 weeks training finishes.
I know I should ask it when the time comes but what would the reaction be for employees going on a short leave RIGHT after finishing training.
Is it generally looked down or should I just not go on the one week holiday.
Travel compensation for ABS training
Might actually end up getting the job at the abs. However the training is 2 weeks in Geelong.
do they provide with travel compensation or like accommodation ?
I live out eastern Melbourne’s so traveling to Geelong everyday for the 2 weeks travel from my home might be a bit much…
So recently, I just got 2 offers for both ABS (Aus bureau of statistics) as a data sourcing contact agent and AUSPOST customer service consultant. Both sounds pretty attractive pretty good but I’m honestly not sure what to pick… hoping there’s any person who’s worked either job to tell me more about it.
I come from a background of just working retail so a sit in office job will be a new experience.
Oh and also this is for Melbourne Victoria.
