Forgot to take meds last night
I’ve never forgotten to take them this late, it’s currently 7am for me. I take 100mg lamotrigine and 5mg abilify. I usually take them together at 7:30pm. Do I just wait until 7:30 tonight to take my normal amount?

I had my first psych appointment beginning of this week and got my first med prescription. I’m just overthinking the fact that I may not have properly explained everything because I was so anxious in the moment. I’m technically diagnosed bipolar 1 with psychotic features but I never added the last part, I just said bipolar 1. She did try to prescribe an atypical antipsychotic at first but I couldn’t afford it so I just have a mood stabilizer right now. She said if we have to add more meds we can discuss and figure out the best route to go. I’m just also overthinking when she was asking about hallucinations and/or delusions I didn’t go as deep into the delusions as I should have (which I experience primarily in really bad episodes), and I only explained past, years old episodes where I had weird psychotic symptoms but never mentioned how currently when I’m manic I’ll see shadows of people.
I see her again in a few weeks to follow up on the meds so I can always tell her there. She had asked if there was anything else I thought she should know and I did say I’ll probably think of something later but off the top of my head no. And sure enough I did, I was just so anxious at the appointment it’s the first time I’ve done anything like that and I did it with little support outside my therapist. I wanted to prove to myself I could do it on my own.
Anyway, I’m not sure if anyone’s been in similar situations and if it messed anything up because I’m worried I messed something up :(
It’s been years my therapist has been recommending trying meds and I finally did it. I am ready to really work on changing my life around and working to take care of myself properly. I’m tired of ruining relationships, putting myself in dangerous situations and being so impulsive and erratic at times. I’m tired of the life draining depressive episodes that put me in really dark places. I’m two days on meds so far so it’ll take time ofc to feel the full effects but I’m already feeling much more motivated to start taking care of some things I’ve been putting off since my last depressive episode.
I’m really proud of myself for finally taking this jump even though I was so anxious to. I did it all on my own with no help outside my therapist and I’m so proud of myself for that. I am hoping these first meds do help but I’m prepared and ready to handle any med changes if things don’t work out. I’m just so ready to do better. I want so much for myself and I’m finally taking the steps to do it even though things have been really hard lately.
I’m just so stuck. I’m in a really bad depressive episode right now but I’m too scared to be honest with my therapist because I’m scared of being sent somewhere (I’m 21 and she’s explained how all of that works multiple times but I always forget and then panic). But I’m honestly wondering if I should get help. I’ve never been hospitalized, never sought out extra care outside my therapist and even then i find myself struggling to be fully honest with her out of fear. Which is so frustrating because I love my therapist I’ve been seeing her since I was 13 I shouldn’t feel scared. But I think a big part of it is being stuck between feeling like my issues aren’t bad enough to warrant extra support and just not wanting to admit I’m doing bad.
Im spiraling and keep rapid cycling. I had a bad manic episode from oct25-dec25, then have been rapid cycling ever since but this is the longest and lowest low I’ve had since. I’m not on meds yet I’m trying to find a psych but it’s hard because again I feel like my issues aren’t bad enough but it’s been years of me trying to self manage and I can’t do it anymore. I never could. I’ve just been keeping myself afloat and that’s it. The first psych I called said that they don’t typically treat that and it’s needs more intense care then they can provide so that was disheartening. It could’ve been because my therapist wants to rule out schizoaffective but who knows. She thinks I’m at least bipolar 1 with psychotic features but after learning more wants to double check. Idk everything’s hard.
I’m scared to self admit somewhere and I don’t know when it’s appropriate to do so because I’ve never in my life done anything like that I always just self isolate and wait till it’s over. But it’s getting so hard sometimes and I need help but I’m scared (to be clear I do not feel like an imminent danger to myself, which is part of why I’m struggling to know when it’s okay to allow myself to relax and accept that I can get extra help if I need)
