Would making the playoffs this year even be good in the long run?

Let's say that against all odds, we are actually decent this year and we make the playoffs. Maybe we even get crazy a win a few games while we're there.

But as things currently stand: Werenski's future is uncertain. Marchenko actively wants out. We are alienating our young star center and depriving him of training and development.

Would it really even matter if we have a decent season? Or would it just delude the front office and ownership that we have a chance when the wheels are so clearly falling off, here?

I'm *so* sick of the losing and being bad. But I'm also sick of this mushy middle, where no one *really* wants to be here, no matter what they may say into a microphone or camera, and we all know it but just don't want to talk about it. This last rebuild was never really as deep as it needed to be, and it also got cut short before it was really done.

So I'm really left wondering what would be better in the long-run: squeak into the playoffs and delay everything blowing up for a little bit, or just accept the situation and try to trade for futures and commit to a full, legitimate rebuild?

[OoT] I hope the next Zelda game is just crayon drawings of stick figures.

2003: "WAAAAAAEEEEEEHHH I DON'T LIKE THE CARTOONY ART STYLE I WANT SOMETHING DARK AND GRITTY"

2006: "WAAAAAAEEEEEEHHH I DON'T LIKE THE DARK AND GRITTY ART STYLE EVERYTHING IS BROWN AND GREY I WANT COLOR"

2017-2023 (to a lesser degree): "WAAAAAAEEEEEEHHH I DON'T LIKE THE COLORFUL CEL SHADING I WANT SOMETHING REALISTIC AND GROUNDED LIKE TWILIGHT PRINCESS"

2026: "WAAAAAAEEEEEEHHH I DON'T LIKE THE REALISTIC ENVIRONMENTS AND LIGHTING IT LOOKS LIKE A FAN GAME IT LOOKS LIKE AI I WANT NOT THIS"

I hope the next game is just a series of doodles made by one of the developer's toddlers.

Who's the most obscure Blue Jacket you own a card of?

Probably either of these John Moore or Michael Leighton cards, for me.

What's with the sudden uptick in relocation talk?

Maybe I'm just extrapolating too much from a few random comments and posts I've seen, but over the past few days there seems to have been an increase in people talking about the idea of CBJ relocating, sometimes almost like it's an inevitability or the objectively right thing to do.

Yeah the organization's vibes and reputation are probably in 32nd place rn, but I don't think the controversial moves of the past week (or the overall drama of this whole offseason) are really any strong indicators of impending relocation or anything like that.

The McConnells are greedy, out-of-touch billionaires like any others; they'll make any shitty move and stab any loyal employees in the back if it means saving a few bucks. But that's not exactly a unique ownership dynamic in the NHL or any sports league, so why the sudden increase in relocation talk?

Anyone ever gone to the open house before?

Got a message about the upcoming open house on the 12th and I'm interested in going, especially if it means free tickets for a game this year, but I'm also not really in a place to buy season tickets or anything like that (about to graduate college and all that).

Is it basically just a sales pitch for season tickets? Or is it more like a tour of the arena while they talk to you about some ticket options? I loved going to the fan fests when I was a kid but I'm assuming it isn't like those events used to be.

Fun jersey speculation

For those of you who aren't aware, there is supposed to be a new league-wide special jersey program this upcoming season in the same vein as Reverse Retro, this time apparently being called Hometown Remix.

A few of the designs have already leaked, like Florida's (and as much as I hate the Panthers, I have to admit it's a sexy jersey).

More importantly, the main colors of each team's jersey has leaked, and as you can see in the picture above, ours is apparently going to be grey/silver.

I wonder if this is just going to be a generic design with our third color, or if we're FINALLY getting a Chill-inspired jersey. It would certainly fit the idea of "hometown remix."

Anyways, I'm interested to hear what people think and are hoping our jersey might look like.

Genuinely why does God hate the Blue Jackets?

25 years of irrelevance, never win anything, star player signs here only to die in a tragic accident, star defenseman finally gets league-wide recognition and is immediately going to be traded away, all the while 31 other fanbases are just CLOWNING on us and are eager to do so.

I am SO tired, boss.
