[OC] Blue Jackets' franchise historical performance relative to .500

Here is your franchise's cumulative record relative to .500 (equal wins and losses) throughout their entire history.

I will be making one such graph for each team. The complete album can be seen here.

OT losses are counted as losses.

[Flyers] Flyers have made an offer sheet worth 18M to Leo Carlsson. Contract would be 5x18M, worth 4 1st round picks

So…what do you think the next steps are? (Cap-wise)

24 hours ago it seemed like this offseason’s extensions would be easy with 18 mil out of 21 being dedicated to Mo, Jet and Cole (per Don) but Leo signing for 18 obviously shakes things up. Assuming Mo doesn’t sign for any less than 15/16 how do you see us managing the cap not just this offseason but going forward as well?

Obviously Elvis is coming off the books in a year, Monny and Sevo would be some of the first guys I look to potentially try to move as well (Sevo had a good year but could be a “sell high” moment)

The Blue Jackets went without a goal from a rookie last year. Who is most likely to break that for us this year?

Last season was not ideal as far as rookies are concerned. Which players are the most likely to break that streak, and have an impact for us this season?

At least five teams presented offer sheets to Carlsson

An offer sheet for Fantilli appears imminent, right? Or are we just being homers and overestimating his value lol.

Don...

How are we feeling about Don?

Couldn't close the Dobson deal.

The whole Werenski and Marchy thing.

Not signing Mo last year or earlier.

No trades for anyone under 30.

Should we be concerned? I'm hoping he has something up his sleeve.

Jackets Development Camp 2026

Some notes from being there and snapping pics:

Whitelaw and Mannisto are smaller guys who play big. They both like bodying guys in the corners and on the boards, even during drills. Whitelaw impressed me a lot — lots of speed, and the game seemed to follow him around the ice. Seemed solid positionally.

Lindstrom looked pretty awesome to me. I know he should look good against prospects at this point, but it was clear that he, Smith, and Henning were on another level.

Lindstrom likes to play the body a lot and uses change of speed to create space when he has the puck. He likes to make plays — passes that didn't look like legit chances, saucers through crowds that landed on tape.

Andreyanov and Lindstrom have a social gravitational pull. They seem to be buddies with everyone — crowds form around them wherever they end up on the ice.

Smith likes pushing others to their limits. Those of you who've watched Smith in his college games - does he fight much? He really seems to like pushing buttons - not nasty, just finds something that bugs a guy or a weakness and leans into it. A bit of a pest. He also liked drawing forecheckers, toe-dragging them out of position, then making a long stretch pass. Smith is pretty clearly ahead of the guys he skated with, especially with his skating.

Smith and Lindstrom were giving it to each other quite a bit. Maybe they know each other from college hockey, but it looked like they had dibs on each other whenever one had possession during the prospect game.

Elick and Vass both have surprisingly good, hard shots and caught goalies off guard a couple of times.

Holy smokes, Hemming is a big dude. He looks even bigger next to Proverov. The kid can skate, too, and was working with trainers more than most to improve his skating even further. Smith did this too.

DW definitely has a type: big guys who skate well, and smaller, skilled guys who are greasy in the corners and in front of the net.

That's all I got. Keep in mind I'm just a beer leaguer who enjoys photographing events. It was nice seeing professional athletes get annoyed by the same rough patches of ice that I've fallen on myself.

I've got around 315 photos total from the event. If there's interest, I'll post an album link, but I don't want to blow up the sub with a bunch of posts about the same event.

what's kept you invested in the Jackets through the tougher seasons

It hasn't been an easy few years but the fanbase sticks around regardless of the standings. Curious what specifically keeps people tuned in through the rougher stretches. What's your reason.

What’s the most obscure jerseys some of you have?

Feel free to expand on why you have it. I thought of this during the fiasco a couple days ago when it seemed like a couple of the jerseys I have would need replaced.

Cayden Lindstrom Media Availability

Look... I don't know if Lindstrom still has the same potential or not when he was drafted, maybe it just takes him a year or two longer to get there. Maybe he's just a potential middle six guy now. Maybe he doesn't even make the league. Who knows...

That being said, I'm rooting for him so hard. He's so goddamn likable. He's smart, funny, self-aware, humble, and determined. He has no misconceptions about where he's at in his developmental timeline. No misconceptions about what people think about him. No delusions of grandeur about how he's better than he actually is at the moment.

He admitted he didn't like how his season at MSU went and that he made some mistakes, acknowledged now that he has a year of hockey under his belt and that he feels healthy he has no excuses not to produce. Just a down to Earth dude that's been humbled by the situation and isn't afraid to open up about it and be brutally honest.

We don't need to talk about Demidov in this thread (I was always pro-Demidov for the record). I was just struck by how likable and honest he is.

Am I crazy or is this Fantilli at the Portugal vs Croatia match?

It is in Toronto so that also makes me think that is him.

What are we thinking of opening night lineup? Any holes we still have to address?

I like the idea of paring KJ with Nichushkin and a reliable center in Coyle. Vronk’s position in the lineup fully depends on how he looks coming into camp.

Don’t think there are any holes left. Have Tuna and LDBB in Cleveland for forward depth so that’s decent.
