I was recently on a train and there was someone trying to jump from the bridge. The police attended and the suicidal person was taken away. I was wondering what happens afterwards. Is there liason with mental health professionals? Are they taken back to the police station? Are they put in cells? How are the police involved in all of this?

I have very little knowledge of police procedures so I apologise if anything is incorrectly worded.
