Can’t get the Witcher 3 remaster (or classic) to run on Arch Linux using Heroic Launcher
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but as the title says.
I have an nvidia RTX 5070, 12 Core CPU and 32GB of RAM. I update my arch regularly, I’ve got the latest Nvidia drivers (615.71.09) and kernel (7.2.7). Heroic launcher has been updated to the latest version as well.
When I first installed the Witcher 3 (classic) more than a month ago I could play it for a few seconds before a crash. I played around with turning settings on/off switching directx version and using older proton versions. Using older proton versions helped increase playtime to a minute or two. I stopped and decided to try again when the remaster drops.
After the remaster, I reinstalled the game from scratch, I get no-where. I don’t even get into the main menu of the game anymore.
It just says “playing” with no rendered game screen.
FYI - I can play other games fine with maxed out RT and DirectX12 features.
EDIT: after completely uninstalling the game, deleting all configs and then uninstalling heroic game launcher completely. Followed by reinstalling everything worked!
