My son is in a separate party, and I recently had him get married. If I put his wife in his party, will they be able to have children, or does it only happen if they are in a settlement or my own party?

I have to travel across the country to collect some fruit flies, dissect them, freeze their guts, and mail them back to my lab. I am planning on taking some of our forceps in case our collaborator doesn't have fine-tip forceps used for fruit flies. Does anyone know if I can take this type of forceps through TSA?
