Opened my closed off fireplace. What next ?

Opened my closed off fireplace. What next ?

This fireplace in my basement has been blocked over 15 years agp. They put a Sheetrock over it, which I ripped off today.
What do I do next?
What kind of professional do I need to call to “finish” it? I’m aware I need to be up to codes so obviously I want to make sure it’s done correctly.
If anyone has been in this situation, what was the cost?

Communication with my brother

My brother was brought to hospital yesterday, will get transferred to mental ward today or tomorrow.

Background story from what I know, he’s been taking hard d**gs (mth) and his mental health has deteriorated (?) (psychosis?). I don’t know what’s his condition but anyways, he lived with my brother for 3 weeks, and said to him things like “I will kill you to make you free” or “I’m looking for such or such cadaver” stuff like that…
Then police arrested him 2 days ago. (He was then homeless)

Basically now I’m worried for him obviously, and he called me from the hospital. I didn’t answer. I plan on visiting him once he gets transferred to the mental ward.
But I’m also tempting to give him a call while I can.
Just to show support or at least so he doesn’t feel alone or ignored by his family.
Should I call him? Or wait it out?
My siblings think it’s a bad idea, because he’s not in his right mind, and might just try to lie to us because all he wants is dr*gs

How to move $ from TSFA bank account to Wealthsimple tsfa account?

I think I found the way to do so (“move” + “transfer account to Wealthsimple”)
But I’m not 100% sure this is the right way? I guess I need some validation. I just don’t want to make a mistake and have penalties.
Like my intention is not withdrawing money from tsfa but only to transfer it.

Light switch before/after

I don’t know why I haven’t done this before, super easy and looks like brand new switch. Those little details really make a difference in the room.

  1. Turn off electricity
  2. Remove plate
  3. Tools + product used: rubbing alcohol, q-tip, paper towel, tooth pick (to access easily the crevices)
  4. Let dry completely before turning electricity back on (someone suggested a few hours)

Have my plants been sprayed with herbicide?!

First a few days agoI noticed the ferns getting brown. Today I noticed my cat mint and other plants have gotten brown and crispy ish.

This is only a part of my yard at the back, by the fence. I know it’s not normal at this time of the year, when everything is blooming.

I’m suspecting my neighbour sprayed some chemical, either intentionally or not. Of course I can’t blame him but it just happens to be…suspicious.

Anyways I’m not sure what to do. I started growing mushrooms and other comestibles in that area.
Do I rip everything off?

4 in 1 apple tree?

I have this grafted apple tree and I was thinking about espalier.
I’m not very familiar with the whole process of espalier and before I try and get into it, is it a good idea? Would a grafted apple tree work?

news, podcasts, TV, medias..?

Ciao a tutti! I’m not a beginner, I’ve learned Italian years ago but I never have the chance to practice it, exchange with italo-speakers, so I would say I’m advanced. But my Italian is getting rusted :(

I’m looking for recommendations, stuff to listen to or even watch. I know there are plenty of options but curious on what others listen to/ watch to keep their Italian alive.
Grazie
