SAT Submission

I wanted to know more about how score reporting works. If I report it to Questbridge does every school see it? Can I apply test-optional and then choose to send scores to only test-required schools?

Also, would submitting a 1380 (700M, 680 R/W) SAT hurt or help in most cases if I plan on applying to several T20s and possibly ivy league schools?

Thanks!

Standardized Testing Policy

I understand that QuestBridge partners have flexible policies regarding standardized testing with some being test-optional and some being test-required, but I am curious to know more about how that works with the National College Match. Am I required to submit my SAT score to be considered as a finalist if I rank schools that are both test-required and test-optional? And does the college ranking process come before or after being selected as a finalist? Furthermore, should I submit a 1380 SAT score for the match if I plan on ranking more competitive schools, or should I hold back? And do all schools see my SAT score if I choose to rank both test-optional and test-required schools, or do I only have to submit those scores to test-required schools and not the test-optional schools? And last but not least, do I still have a good chance of matching if I choose to go test-optional? What are the numbers like for people who actually matched to super competitive schools as test-optional applicants? I'm soooo sorry for bombarding everyone with so many questions, but I appreciate any input you guys may have!!!

Low SAT Score

I understand that many schools are moving away from test-optional admissions. In March, I took the SAT for the first time and scored a 1290. While I know that my score falls within the bottom of the middle 50% for finalists, I’m wondering if it’s a score I should be proud of and submit. I plan to take the SAT again in August and September, but in case I don’t improve, I’m curious about what I should do as I really want to go to a competitive school. My extracurriculars and awards are strong but my test score is holding me back.
