[APP] Stop custom themes & fonts from reverting on Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO devices!

Zyper is now live on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htetz.zyper

By default, MIUI and HyperOS aggressively reset third-party .mtz themes and custom fonts after just 30 to 60 seconds.

Zyper is a lightweight utility designed to solve this. It runs a highly optimized background service to bypass the system restriction, permanently locking in your applied customizations so they never revert to the default.

Features:

  • Stops the Reset: Keeps third-party .mtz themes and fonts permanently applied.
  • Broad Support: Fully compatible with both MIUI and HyperOS.
  • Battery Optimized: The background service is designed for minimal power consumption.
  • Simple UI: Clean, straightforward, and incredibly easy to use.

One UI 8.5 custom fonts again???

I made this prototype app 2 days ago while I was in a private group for system shell access. I had already seen fahadalijaved's SamFonts in that group, but it relies on Knox. I built this without Knox, using only System Shell (UID 1000).

I don't plan to share this publicly because it is tied to their private group. I originally just wanted to share the app within that community, but after I finished it, I found myself no longer in the group. Since joining, I hadn't said anything in the chat; I just followed the guides to use the exploit and get system shell. I understood the private group rules and didn't do anything wrong.

However, a lot of you guys have been DMing me and sharing several posts in this sub. So, I want to make one thing clear: the main point here isn't the font application method itself. It's the System Shell access (UID 1000), which is highly privileged, like ROOT (UID 0). Normal Shizuku is just ADB (UID 2000) and doesn't have permission to access the /data directory where Samsung stores its font files and configs.

Since Samsung blocked all possible loopholes, we still don't have a universal method to apply fonts for everyone. The newly found methods rely on System Shell (1000), which isn't meant for end users.

But huge thanks to Gabriel2392, VikramAditya, and fahadalijaved for the System Shell exploit, btw!

Beta Testers Needed: Stop Custom Themes & Fonts from Reverting on Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO!

https://preview.redd.it/mb6x71o19h5h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=aa381aadd0537f937e18e4b2fbeccf2790cbd408

Hey zFont family and MIUI/HyperOS customizers!

We all know the struggle: you apply a beautiful third-party theme or font on your Xiaomi device, but after 30 to 60 minutes, the system annoyingly forces it back to default.

⚠️ CRITICAL SETUP INSTRUCTIONS (Please Read)

Because MIUI and HyperOS are notoriously aggressive at killing background apps, Zyper relies on a constant "Foreground Service." For the app to work at all, it MUST stay running in the background.

When you open the app, you must complete the entire Setup Checklist to make it active:

  1. Notifications: Allow notifications so the foreground service can stay alive.
  2. Battery Optimization: Disable this so the system doesn't put Zyper to sleep.
  3. Autostart: Enable this so Zyper can boot back up if you restart your phone.

(Make sure all three checklist items are checked and the status says "Active" before you start testing!)

🧪 What exactly are we testing?

The main goal of this beta is to see if MIUI/HyperOS will respect the permissions or if it will still aggressively kill the app.

First, apply a custom theme or font using zFont or any other method. Then, test the app and let me know in the comments:

  • Is it working fine? (The service stays running permanently and your theme stays applied).
  • Or did it get stopped? (The system killed the Zyper background service, causing your custom theme/font to revert).

If we find out that the system still forces the app to stop, I will work on integrating an Accessibility Service in a future update as a stronger workaround. But for now, let's see how this version holds up!
