Hi! I’ve been watching a lot of food videos from Japanese folks on YouTube and one thing that comes up often is milk-flavored ice cream and other treats like “milk cream” in a sweet roll.

When it comes to stuff like the cream, I assume that’s just sweetened cream. But for ice cream flavors, does it literally just taste like milk? Or is that another way to say it’s vanilla-flavored?

I ask because in the US, vanilla is considered the default flavor for stuff like ice cream. I’m curious if that’s also the case in Japan?

I’ll preface this with saying I haven’t spoken with a doctor yet about whether or not I have sleep apnea or if I need to do something to help with underlying conditions, but I’ve found a way to reliably stop snoring it the event I’m sharing a room with someone. I have a bit of a jalapeño pepper before bed to clear my sinuses, then use mouth tape. The one I’ve been using is called The Tin Patch, and it’s as comfortable as I imagine tape on your mouth can feel, and it stayed on all night! Might be a bit expensive to use every night and I’ll definitely be talking to a doctor soon, but so glad I’ve found somerhing I can do in a pinch! Hope this helps someone!
