Control your dogs

Just this morning at 4am I was doing my usual morning run. However, someone had left their two pit bulls out and I was chased and had to leap Into a neighbors yard to get away. I don’t blame the dogs they’re excellent guard dogs but dude, have the responsibility to ensure your dogs are in your yard every evening. The happened near the Kroc Center, I’m not going to Doxx the owners.

Dungeness Crab Legs all you can eat

If you plan on visiting Harrah’s Gulf Coast in Biloxi and you love Crab Legs, Lobster, Shrimp, Crawfish and more, then I have a restaurant recommendation for you.

I’m in Biloxi right now for a short pre-birthday trip. Harrah’s Gulf Coast has a 5x TCM this week. I love Dungeness crab legs and today went to the Infinity Buffet at the Treasure Bay Casino. For $44, including tax, I got all you can eat Dungeness and Snow Crab Legs. They also has several types of Shrimp dishes, Crawfish, Fish, Pork Spareribs, and lots of other stuff, all on the buffet.

I totally went off my diet, but enjoyed 8 clusters of Dungeness Crab Legs and other stuff. They even brought a 2 gallon bucket for me to put the shells and waste in. I highly recommend the Infinity Buffet. It isn’t fancy, but it is good food. If I was not going home on Thursday, I would go back as they also have whole lobsters on the buffet and all for the same price.

Best hotels in Biloxi on a budget?

Thinking of a family getaway weekend to the beach in Biloxi and wondered about the nicest and cleanest hotels on the beach for the money? I love those old hotels that APPEAR to have been renovated, for example. But open to suggestions.

Favorite food question

My favorite foods, is steak, pizza, and burgers. What are the reccomendations or best restaurants that serve each of these? It doesn’t have to be all in place either. Any locations along the gulf coast within Mississippi is preferred.

Trying Again

Hey all!

If you see this twice sorry, it says it was removed not sure why

Coming to Gulfport/Biloxi area and I’ve done quite a bit of looking and just wanna make sure the things I’ve picked out are worth my time.

Traintastic
Mississippi Museum of Aviation
Infinity Space Center
Biloxi Lighthouse Tour
Mississippi Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Additionally, I know Ship Island is the most recommended but we are not going there this trip, so ideas for the best/least crowded beach would be great!

Best BBQ in the area?

Thanks for any advice!

Looking for friends

I’m editing this to specify that I am only looking for female friends.

Hey y’all.

Let me preface by saying I’m not new to the coast, I’ve been here for about 7 years, I know the places to go, I’m just an introvert who doesn’t have luck meeting people out in the real world.

Now that that’s out of the way..
I’m a bi 38F in the north Biloxi area, married with kids, just trying to find a few female friends that I can get to know and hopefully build lasting friendships with.

My interests include scrolling stupid internet videos and memes, “gardening” (I have my med card), binging tv shows, a certain true crime podcast, hobby jumping (thanks ADHD), reading (when my attention span allows), and the occasional video game.

I don’t work so I have a lot of free time during the day and I’m a bit of a night owl. I text a lot, I get chatty, but there will also be times when I need to take a beat for my mental health (with warning, no ghosts here!).

Lastly, I’m very much a homebody. You want to come over, hang out on the porch, play on our phones, and show each other stupid memes or videos back and forth? I am 100% your girl!
Send me a message, we might click.

Hurricane Camille (1969) was one of the most powerful storms ever to strike the Mississippi Gulf Coast—yet it is often overshadowed by Hurricane Katrina.

Disaster preparation and recovery were vastly different in 1969. The destruction caused by Camille became one of the first modern tests of resilience for the Gulf Coast—and the lessons still matter today.

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Policies

I have a relative that was placed there involuntarily four days ago. Oceans' policy is patients have phone privileges two hours a day. The relative is delusional and calls various people each day just ranting. She gets very agitated, doesn't let the other person talk, then hangs up. In order for one of us to call back and get actual info like what is the treatment plan, etc., we need a patient code that she won't give to anyone.

This is my first experience dealing with a psych hospital, but this seems very counter-intuitive to let the patient get this agitated for two hours every single day, yet the spouse or anyone keeps getting told "patient may or may not be there." I'm afraid they are just going to turn her loose and she won't have any resources with her.

To make matters worse, she nor the family lives in Biloxi. She got placed there because she got in trouble in MS and Oceans had a spot. I would rather she get transferred close to home.

Has anyone dealt with this situation with Oceans? I'm assuming we will have to get an attorney involved. At first, I was glad they took her because other facilities declined due to fact she is not a MS resident.

Furthermore, getting transferred out of state will be another red tape nightmare even though the hospital we want her to go to would come get her.

I think they should fix the intersection of three rivers and seaway in Gulfport

The two traffic lights there are a mess. I honestly wonder if it would work better if they used the existing space to make it a peanut roundabout to accommodate the turning traffic on Community.

Thoughts?

Emo orchestra?

Hi guys me and my husband are going to Biloxi this weekend to see his mom and we saw this when looking up events. The Facebook page doesn’t have much detail. Is there an entry fee? Or a dress code? I’ve got to tons of emo nights but nothing where orchestra was involved and just wanted some more details!

What do people do around here for fun other than casinos/how to become more social and involved?

I moved to Diamondhead at the beginning of 2024 and have worked from home the entire time. I don’t know anyone on the coast other than a work friend who it’s hard to see due to life constraints and one friend who is temporarily here I met on Bumble bff.

I’m looking for ways to branch out or groups I could join (29 year old woman). I’m passionate about cooking and trying new cuisines/recipes, home brewing beer/mead, jewelry making, I have a kayak, any type of art interests me including pottery, painting, crafting, etc.

I got with my ex husband when I was 18 (relationship ended at the beginning of 2025) and I spent a lot of time over the years working 7 day weeks so I missed out on single college years and opportunities to build a social life that others had, and I feel like it’s time to branch out.

Bloody Marys?

My wife and I will be in town next week for a few nights.

For the first time in my life, I’m finally embracing Bloody Mary’s.

Anyone have any recommendations for the best Bloody in town?

I hear The Office in Ocean Springs makes a great one, we’ll probably stop in there at some point. But looking for additional ideas.

What are the average costs and processes involved with setting up a modular home/tiny home/trailer on a piece of land among the Coastal counties?

And are there businesses/contractors down here that specialize in managing the complete process?
