  • The Jackson County Government offices will be CLOSED ALL DAY Friday, October 9, 2026.

• VOLUNTARY EVACUATION (see notice for more details)
  • In anticipation of moderate to major coastal flooding, Earl Etheridge, Director of the Jackson County Office of Emergency Services, has issued a voluntary evacuation for Zone A – South of Highway 90 (see attached map), low-lying, flood prone areas, for residents living on rivers, river inlets, bayous, creeks and in travel-trailers or other sub-standard structures.
  • HURRICANE SHELTER INFORMATION :: The following shelters will be opening in Jackson County at Friday – October 9, 2026 at 8:00AM.
    • Central Jackson County Shelter (Vancleave 361) 5500 Ballpark Road, Vancleave, MS 39575
    • East Jackson County Shelter (East Central 361) 18413 Highway 613, Hurley, MS 39562
  • You can bring basic personal identification, essential clothing, and necessary medications to a homeless shelter, but rules vary by location.
