Bradycardia and metoprolol

Been on 12.5 mg metop for about 5 years for benign PVC’s. I seem to get PVC’s only at rest. If I exercise or keep moving they stop. I take the metop at night and lately I wake up to a heart rate 42-49 and PVC’s. As the day goes on the PVC’s dissipate and heart rate returns to my baseline which is now 62-67. I want off this metop. I once asked cardio and she said just stop it but other reports suggest weaning off. How do you wean off 12.5 mg? Break in half? I’ve had multiple zip patches and echos and they tell me heart is fine. Really frustrating but I think the metop is now making PVC’s worse not better. Any thoughts from you smart folks.

When to wean meds

11 year old pup diagnosed stage 1 cervical IVDD 10 days ago. On carprofen 2x a day gaba 3 times a day and amantadine 2x a day. He’s doing well is being rested except for potty and eating and improved. Vet thinks we can cut back on carprofen to once daily. She said it was up to us based on how he acts. She’s concerned about kidneys due to his age. What has your experience been with gradually weaning meds.

Are the meds forever

11 year old doxy mix diagnosed stage 1 cervical IVDD 8 days ago. He’s on rimadyl 2x a day, gabapentin 3x a day, amatadine 2x a day. No longer yelping. We are still resting him of course. Walking to eat and potty. No furniture or stairs. He’s improving greatly. My question is how long do they continue the meds? Is it the entire 4-6 weeks or longer? Do they get weaned off? I’ll be calling vet next week to discuss but thought I’d ask for input from you all.

Moist heat

My 11 year old suffering with cervical IVDD. He is on rimadyl, gabapentin and amantadine. This started 6 days ago. Yesterday was good and today is not. Has anyone successfully tried moist heat treatments at this point. My vet said there are mixed opinions on that. This is hell seeing him suffer.

IRMAALetter just arrived

Just got the dreaded IRMAA letter. Our Part B is going to be $543/ month each. So $1100 a month not including D and a G supplement. I’m assuming this is why people go with an Advantage Plan? Really don’t want to but this is insane. If we go with D and G we will be at $1600/month. What did other ITMAA folks decide? We start Medicare August 1st.

Choosing a part D

So trying to choose part D. It seems for our meds Humana Value Rx might be the best but it has a $615 yearly deductible. $0 per month premium. Do most people’s plans have a deductible. I’m finding that with some drugs like brand name synthroid im better off using SingleCare than the Humana drug coverage. Also do most people’s plans use the 90 day mail in option?
