Picked this up yesterday after work. I listened all the way through twice, before dinner and after dinner. It was hard not to put it back on this morning at 5am.
If you’ve heard this and Jazzmataz by Guru, do they compare? Which one do you prefer?
Bought this at a thrift store out on our way to the creek a few summers ago. Bought it with a few others for 10$. I’d never heard of these guys, but wanted to listen to Going way back w/ KRS-One. Still waiting to hear it!! I did how ever get this cool surprise.

Hey guys, had the day to myself so I headed to a local shop that carries a sick selection of Hip Hop and Rap. Found this, browsed a bit more and brought it home. Honestly Ive listed to it just once, and I’m already hooked. Interesting, weird, exciting, just a few of the words to describe what my ears felt. I’m sure a lot of you have heard this track but for those of you that haven’t I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Here’s what I found out about this record and Track #4.
The song is called “Social Distortion”
It’s a DJ premier remix.
It was released in 2024 and it’s a compilation by Lex records.
The track contains dialogue from “take this money” and “reparations” from the movie Barbershop.
It was released to celebrate 20 years of Lex records and is limited to 1000 copies.
“Social distortion” was originally produced by Danger Mouse for Prince pose 2004 album “The slickness”.
