What do you use as a SECONDARY browser?

Hi - I recently switched to Linux and have always used FF for my day-to-day stuff, but sometimes also need a secondary browser, especially if it can close without losing its open tabs. I'm trying to avoid anything from Microsoft/Google/etc. Figured I'd ask here before trying out half a dozen other browsers.

Waterproof "ceiling" for apartment [wood] balcony?

I'm moving into a 2nd (out of 3) floor apartment, and would like to be able to use the balcony even when there's a little rain. Plus, I don't want dirt and crud falling between the spaces and onto my balcony patio furniture.

I could probably just grab a staple gun and slap a tarp up there at a slight angle for drainage, but I'd prefer something that looks a little nicer. I'll probably also get some sort of astro turf/fake grass for the balcony floor so I don't have to worry about dropping or spilling anything onto the ground floor balcony/furniture.

Any suggestions?

DVD ISOs being removed?

I uploaded Eddie Murphy: Raw a day or two ago and it looked fine after the upload, and now it's completely gone. I didn't get any notifications or anything about it being removed.

What's a good starter kit with the current sales for an apartment with a balcony? Also - battery backup suggestions? Also also - do I need SD cards for cameras if I use the NVR?

I'm looking at the 4 camera pack with NVR (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3QVZQ2)

It should be perfect with one for the balcony, 2 bedrooms, and living room. The NVR comes with a hard drive, so wouldn't that mean I won't need memory cards for each camera?

What's a good, cheap battery backup that I can leave plugged in 24/7 for power outages? I'm assuming I'd need one per camera and one for the NVR?

Which local pet shelters/rescues need help the most?

My dog - my best friend in the entire world - just recently had to be put down due to cancer. I had just restocked my supply of food and treats and stuff and want it to go to dogs that need it the most. I know the Humane Society always takes donations, but do they need the stuff more than any other place? I'm not from here or familiar with other places, other than having heard of a place called Muddy Paws.

Ring security system alternatives specifically for indoors/apartment??

I don't mind if security footage is uploaded to a secure cloud location, providing that it's actually secure and not shared like how Ring (Amazon) or Nest (Google) work.

I just need something decent that I can turn on when I leave to keep an eye on maintenance workers or whatever else may happen when I'm gone. An alarm feature and keypad would be ideal, but I could live without them. Same with battery backup options.

I've been out of the loop for a while and can't figure out what's reputable and what's not these days, and the people in the security subs don't seem too worried about actual privacy. Any suggestions??

I am putting local (and not-so-local) yearbooks on the Internet Archive. If you have one you'd like scanned and uploaded to be shared, let me know.

ChatGPT seems to be pretty bad at deskewing and cropping images. Why?

I've been doing this manually forever after scanning magazines to archive online. Sooo many people have suggested I try AI to deskew and crop the images as it would save sooo much time. So I signed up for GPT yesterday and spent all yesterday and today "discussing" with it what it was doing right and wrong and it's still giving me mostly garbage.

I've uploaded before/after examples of things I've done via NAPS2, and GPT recognizes and tells me what I've done there, but it can't seem to replicate it. Out of about 100 attempts/batches, so far it's given me maybe a dozen acceptable batches back, and those were only acceptable because those particular magazines were old and crappy and I didn't care too much about it being super precise.

Is there something else I should be trying, or is ChatGPT just not good at this sort of task?

What is the universe expanding “into?”

if you could magically pause everything and appear at the very edge of the universe’s expansion, what would happen if you tried to fly a few feet further than that? What exactly is something/someplace that is not in the universe?
