Bear 650 handlebar swap that finally killed my wrist pain
After multiple attempts at finding the right handlebar, I finally settled on this setup.
Parts (all from Super Meteor 650):
Handlebar: more rise and pushback than the Bear’s stock bar
Riser clamp: slightly taller than stock, but I needed it anyway to handle the diameter change from 22mm to 28mm
Cables: Swapped the throttle and clutch cables for Super Meteor 650 units. Clutch routing stays the same as stock. The throttle cables needed rerouting to the front side of the tank to take up the extra length (see pic 4 for reference).
How it feels: Way more comfortable. The riser adds a bit of height and the bar gives you plenty of pushback and width. This is easily the most comfortable my Bear 650 has been. I’ve ridden a week on it now.
For context, I deal with a wrist injury and shoulder issues. With this setup both are much better and the pain is completely gone.
Cost:
SM650 Handlebar - ₹1,685
SM650 Riser+Clamp - ₹4575
Throttle cable - ₹366
Clutch cable - ₹234
Total - ₹6860 🫠
But all in all, I’m satisfied with the upgrades.
