Tyres upgraded: Ceat CrossRad

Upgraded my tyres with the tubeless conversion to the Ceat CrossRad. Upsized to F: 110 80 r19 , R: 150 70 r17

Immediate improvement: wet grip is immensely better. Bike feels more planted on the wet pune roads. Braking feels more confident. Turning and leaning on wet corners with way more grip.

Tyres make such a difference!

Pair cost 17000/-. Purchased from Grip n Gear, Pune - Pratik : +91 82373 95678

Other options considered (based on availability): Apollo Trampler XR, Eurogrip Explo-R plus and Metzeller Tourance. Apollo and Eurogrip are in a similar range (12-15k), Metz are 35k+.

How bad is it?

I want this bike especially after the teat ride.
Going for the Wild Honey colour
Only 2 questions:

  1. How bad is the fuel efficiency?
  2. How bad is the suspension as during the test ride I felt it was manageable?

Bear 650 - Tubeless!

Tubeless conversion done!

Work done at desmo.one, Pune. Cost 8k.

Looks super clean, Initial tests show no leaks at the spokes, edges or valve.

Installed Ceat CrossRad tyres. F: 110 80 19 , R: 150 70 17. These are essentially the H450 tyres, but manufactured by Ceat in a different size and rebranded. I loved the H450 tyres, so assuming these should also be good. Will report in after a few rides.

Waitinggg!!!!

How long will I have to wait for my bear to be delivered.

Even the tentative date is now stuck at 22 june.

How long you people had to wait to get your bear 650.

Because all the salespeople at the dealership have been saying it'll take 3 months from the booking date.😭😭

Bear 650 battery issue

Left bike for 4 days due to some reason nobody touched it but when the bike was turned on it showed the error of the battery kinda expected that I was trying to find a similar warning on himi 450 n gurilla since they share the same console, I know i should probably just get the battery charged but I'm seeking second option that I should go to my local workshop or should I go to RE authorised center, would it harm my battery if I continue for a day or 2

⚠️The display turned off randomly they was running fine

It’s been 2 months already. Should I keep waiting, or cancel the order and look for a used one instead? What do you guys think?

Two Bears and the Mountain

Run in ride to Tamhini ghats, Pune, with a fellow Bear 249 and a Himalayan 450. Super fun short 150kms ride, great handling on smooth twisties, excellent braking and that butter smooth 650cc p-twin!

The Goosefit handlebar risers I installed definitely improve the posture and comfort.

Installed my dirtsack frogman cs framebags from my H450 onto the oem saddlestays. Fits well, with good clearance from the exhaust. Those will become a permanent fixture on the Bear.

Ultra stiff suspension- YSS incoming.

The tyres are iffy at best. Got some chicken strips, but a tyre upgrade is lined up with the tubeless conversion.

Bear 650 handlebar swap that finally killed my wrist pain

After multiple attempts at finding the right handlebar, I finally settled on this setup.

Parts (all from Super Meteor 650):
Handlebar: more rise and pushback than the Bear’s stock bar

Riser clamp: slightly taller than stock, but I needed it anyway to handle the diameter change from 22mm to 28mm

Cables: Swapped the throttle and clutch cables for Super Meteor 650 units. Clutch routing stays the same as stock. The throttle cables needed rerouting to the front side of the tank to take up the extra length (see pic 4 for reference).

How it feels: Way more comfortable. The riser adds a bit of height and the bar gives you plenty of pushback and width. This is easily the most comfortable my Bear 650 has been. I’ve ridden a week on it now.
For context, I deal with a wrist injury and shoulder issues. With this setup both are much better and the pain is completely gone.

Cost:
SM650 Handlebar - ₹1,685
SM650 Riser+Clamp - ₹4575
Throttle cable - ₹366
Clutch cable - ₹234
Total - ₹6860 🫠

But all in all, I’m satisfied with the upgrades.

Misc Upgrades in case anyone’s interested:
- KTC Clutch & brake lever + master cylinder,
- Simtec weatherproof Apple carplay device

Upcoming planned upgrades:
- Headlight on Bear 650 is absolutely bad. Thinking to switch to Vaishnu’s for better setup.
- Removal of Saree Guard
- Might fafo around to build a fork of the RE app to work with an ESP32 Paired to the bike and my iPhone - have to fafo with claude for this ;-;

How much Should i expect?

Hello all,

am planning to sell my Bear 650 bought on 08-08-2025 with 6383 on the ODO. Telangana Registered. Stock bike with OEM Engine guard.

No accidents, a small dent on the right bottom of tank as a friend of mine couldn't bear it's weight and leaned against road divider - never kissed road.

Great machine, am planning to upgrade to TA soon.

For me it costed 474000 ORP. two services are done at RE showroom.

How much should i expect for the machine?

Its a 249 version btw.

Goosefit Handlebar risers | Viaterra Side stand shoe

Installed the Goosefit handlebar risers. I had these lying around from my interceptor, and these are a direct fit on the bear (22mm). Makes the posture more comfortable. Still not “adv” upright, but definitely a lot more comfortable. Adds about 2” of rise and brings the handlebar forward.
No modifications to the stock cables needed. Just the accelerator cables need to be rerouted from the front of the suspension.

Also installed the Viaterra side stand shoe. I found the bear leaning a bit too much on the stock side stand. Adding this adds about an inch of height, males the bear stand a bit more upright while parking.

More to come.
