New to growing flowers and I just found out I was supposed to pinch these snapdragons which have been growing frustratingly slow. Is there a specific spot I should pinch at?

Please ignore my poorly weeded garden but I planned these ranunculus out after pre-sprouting them indoors. It’s my first time trying to grow this beautiful flower and I know they can be notoriously difficult.
They were steadily growing when indoors but now they have become floppy and growth progress has stalled. The weather in Chicago has been fluctuating significantly but the coming weeks are cooler which I feel should be more ideal. Is there anything else I should be doing?
