Is the Flail of Corruption worth it on BL Terminators?

I plan to use the BLT’s as most people do as a big old 10 man shooting brick. It seems that the 3 extra attacks from the flail of corruption isn’t worth giving up the extra shooting. You lose an AP and a ranged attack for 3 extra melee attacks.

What are some other named characters we could get added to the unit roster?

I look at a lot of the space marine factions and I see they each have like 5-10 epic heroes all with special rules and stuff. I know we have the “named” characters like Nauseous Rotbone or Lord Felthius but they’re just generic characters.

So from a lore standpoint what characters outside of the two we have already would you guys like to see added?
