We planted new grass in the spring (pallets of grass). It should be St Augustine grass but you can hardly tell by these pictures?

Are we doomed? Is this dead or is it disease? I live in Houston Texas and we’ve had a lot of rain. Certain areas made it…but most looks brown and dead now 🥹

Any advice?
