Ended up with a job I hate

Short story but a lot of my time.

I was diagnosed with ADHD shortly after finishing university and started taking vyvanse immediately after that. I felt like I saw the light haha. Everything in my day was exciting and new and I had an immense lust for life that I had never experienced before.

I got into an apprenticeship that I thought was really exciting and promising despite it being hard work and long hours. I was working for a very well respected individual in my industry (art world).

1.5 years later and only now am I realising that I am literally just cheap labour for the guy and am being completely taken advantage of. The man hours are outrageous for the pay I receive. I have respiratory issues from inhaling dust from sanding. I have tennis elbow from polishing his artwork surfaces. Which I do for 8 hours straight some days. My finger joints are in constant pain. I practically make the guys work for him and still only receive an entry level hourly. He wasn’t even there today. He also openly admits to not knowing how to achieve certain finishes to the extent that I am able to. It’s embarrassing and immoral.

And I know that if I was unmedicated in the beginning phases I would have seen through the veil and let him find another unsuspecting victim. This shit is so not me. I just did the honourable thing and saw it through I guess. I regret it entirely. I’m resigning tomorrow.

Anyone else have experience with over commitments to this extent lmao? I’m not going to allow myself to dwell on the time and energy lost but I’m pretty pissed off that the substance clouded my agency for so long. Anyways, next chapter inbound.

A tale of two 9s (finally broke 80)

First time breaking 80 and this is how I do it… I played the back 9 first and entered flow state after the turn. Whoever said breaking 80 isn’t about making birdies was WRONG haha. I also was one inch away from a chip in birdie on the 4th and had 6ft for eagle on the par 5 9th.. that would’ve put me at 3 under on the front. Things were just clicking I guess

13HCP but been grafting hard this month with swing changes etc so nice to see the fruits of my labor

Professional Advice Wanted

Hey all. I’ve been doing some research into my swing lately with hopes of eliminating some bad habits (24M, 8 HCP). I want to get down to a scratch in my lifetime

I’ve become fixated on is the tucked trail arm you see on the left (Dustin Johnson). It seems to be a characteristic that appears consistently among elite ball strikers and + handicaps. However, I’ve also noticed plenty of otherwise very good golfers can still play to a high standard from a much steeper position.

But, I’m trying to optimise my swing and I suppose I’m asking how might one unlock this position and is this the difference between mediocrity and greatness lmao

My misses have historically been big fades and the occasional monster slice. Otherwise I generally play a baby fade onto greens and have been able to somewhat consistently hit tight draws off the tee. But since making adjustments and trying to replicate an exaggerated in-to-out swing path I notice a tendency to pull it left immediately off the club face (with slight draw too) - which I believe to be an issue with timing in the hands (or still swing path?) My driver especially is spraying after adjustments. I d do understand that sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better but any advice would go a long way

The two positions you see above is a classic how I think I look vs how I actually look scenario 🤣 how do I get DEEP. I know many of the drills like head cover under the arm etc but SURELY there is something more definitive that will help me lock in. As much as I feel like I’m making adjustments it never looks how it feels. The whole “feel vs real” thing never translates. As soon as I make a full swing I’m back to my bad habits. Like is it even possible to change such engrained muscle memory at this point? I first picked up a club when I was 8..
