How long does the "you said your units at the border weren't going to war, then you attacked anyway" status last?
Using latest/recent Lekmod:
This mod makes the AI immediately respond with this "clarify your intent" choice if you have 2+ units on the AI's border.
I did not have hostile intent when this happened in my current game, but - I probably am going to declare war on that civ later. How long do I have to wait until the 'promise' is outdated and forgotten? The diplomatic penalty from breaking that promise is very severe. 🥺
The title of my thread is potentially misleading. I am not asking how long the penalty would last. I'm asking how long after making a non-hostile promise you have to wait before attacking, in order to avoid the penalty.
How do you survive the early game and gather gold while not recruiting story companions?
Maybe I should not have chosen Veteran difficulty...
But I'm trying to go for a 100% custom party and didn't recruit Eder at the beach or anything. I got killed a couple of times in the earliest cave.
The Lord of the Rings party, for Deadfire
This mod is arguably a must, unless we want to cut the LOTR party from its canonical 9 companions to 5: Gather Your Party (increase party size from 5 to 14)
What I'd love to get from you guys:
Pointers on build for the LOTR party. What classes and subclasses and abilities to pick.
Aragon (Ranger? Or Ranger-Paladin multi?)
Gandalf (Wizard)
Boromir (Fighter? Paladin?)
Legolas (Ranger?)
Gimli (Barbarian?)
Frodo (Rogue?)
Sam
Pippin
Merry
For the halflings I have no idea how to make them. Dwarf race? Orlan race? Rogue class for all of them, or what?
Would also love to hear if anyone has found a good portrait pack (made for this game or any other game!) for the LOTR characters. It won't be the same without those faces visible. :)
Pillars fans' favorite non-Pillars roleplaying games?
I realize this question is sort of odd and off-topic, but I'm posting it here for a reason: because I want the opinions of this fanbase in particular. I figure that if we share a love for PoE, we might have similar good taste in other games too. If the topic isn't acceptable here, I apologize.
I'm trying to somewhat plan out the next couple of months of gaming. :) I'll be starting a new Pillars 2 playthrough very soon, because it's one of my favorite RPGs ever. It's kind of the platonic ideal of CRPG, imo. It's what you might have dreamed of in 1999 of getting in the future. Excellent isometric graphics, excellent systems, full voice acting, etc. But inbetween PoE2 sessions, + when I'm done with it, I need something else of high quality too!
What's the closest you'll come to Pillars 2, outside of actually playing this game?
Unusual, fun MC/party builds?
I'm tempted to play Pillars 2 again. But since I've played it three times before (only finished once tho), I'll probably want something unusual.
Please suggest fun 'out there' builds. :D
