It feels like everything I try isn't *quite* right - it's close - but can't quite hit the sweet spot. Can any of the floorplan/design geniuses here help me solve it? Thank you!
I've been trying and failing for months to try and find the best layout for my downstairs of my house. I've got to take down a structural wall anyway to open up the living room (it's currently split in half - as per 'current' jpeg). I've asked almost everyone, and everyone ends up in the same place that it's somehow awkward and not quite right - despite it seeming like it should work...
I've attached what I've tried so far...
The priorities in order for me are:
- Being able to chat and socialise while I'm cooking with guests - this happens a lot - and is the number one priority.
- Being able to host and fit more people in for gatherings. For sporting events (like watching football) I'd love to be able to have as many people as possible - happy for people to sit on stools etc, but would like to fit more
- Add a downstairs toilet - there's only one toilet in the house and being able to have two people go to the loo at the same time would be a dream.
- In an ideal world be able to see the TV while cooking - but in no way a deal breaker.
