Accessed sharepoint files I wasn’t supposed to
I am an events intern at a small company in Etobicoke. I was going through the sharepoint files trying to find something when I came across the internship interview files. I know I shouldn’t have, but I opened the files and went through some of the files. 3-4 files generally because I wanted to see if I’m in there but then I went through specifically 2 people’s interview files and resumes etc (only for like 5 seconds but still) till I found mine.
I only wanted to find mine but now i’m panicking because even though nobody explicitly told me not to open them I feel so stupid because those could be considered “confidential” or like a breach or whatever.
Obviously I won’t say anything but the internship is already not going super well- this is my first ever Internship and I’m super awkward talking to people and i feel like I ask too many questions, and this is the cherry on top. Will HR or my Director know? Can I get fired over this?
