SD Cards becoming write-protected randomly

Hi everyone. I'm becoming quite frustrated over here and hoping someone can help.

I'm a recent SuperStation One owner. Upon receiving the console I wrote the recent firmware to the supplied 64gb card, ran update_all. And everything worked fine.

Then, I decided to expand my card, so I got a SanDisk Ultra 512gb. I Then flashed the same firmware (1.0C I believe) and copied all files from the 64gb over plus quite a few other files I had collected. After some time, that card became write-protected for no reason.

I figured it was failing, bit the bullet and bought another. Brand new. Same card. Legit vendor. Did the same.

This time I only transferred files via network, thinking it might have been the removing of the card constantly from the SS1 causing the issue.

Now after a few weeks, that one has also adopted the same behaviour. Can't add. Can't delete. I can remove files from the card. That's it. Can't remove write-protection on PC.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Could this be a power supply issue? Would that initiate write protection?

UPDATE: I appreciate everybody's input. in follow up, the card came back clean on H2testw's write + verify test. So, while fake cards can be a culprit- no doubt - I don't think it is the silver bullet that most comments seem to think. something else is at play here, but I wouldn't imagine heat, as my SS1 does not seem to run warm. Anyway, I'm gonna try some lower capacity cards I have lying around. Ironically, the cheap card it came with is fine. Haven't had an issue.

ao486 Core on 4K Display

I'm looking to see if anyone might be willing to share their .ini settings to get the ao486 core running on a 4K display (Samsung). I have the 0mhz collection and would love to explore further.

I have created specific lines for vsync adjust on troublesome arcade cores in the .ini when I get a 'resolution not supported' message, but I am unsure what to change to get computer cores working on a modern 4K display. Anyone have any tricks??
