Looks like the Mantle team is joining Shopify.

Shopify gets people who've spent years building tools for app developers, so the move feels pretty natural. For developers though, it's been a bit of a scramble. Having to replace billing, analytics, email, affiliates, and everything else within a few months isn't exactly a small migration.

One thing I've noticed over the past few days is that everyone's migration plan looks completely different. Some are rebuilding parts in-house, others are moving to a mix of smaller tools.

Billing has a path forward, support has established options, product analytics has obvious choices, but rankings, keyword tracking, and competitor monitoring seem much more fragmented.

Curious what everyone else is landing on for that part. Have you found a tool you're happy with yet?

Here's what I've found as replacements for Mantle so far.

I've been using Mantle for a while, and after the shutdown announcement I spent the last few days figuring out what to migrate to.
There's no real 1:1 replacement, so here's what I've found depending on what you actually used Mantle for.

Billing
Mantle seems to recommend waiting for Shopify's native App Pricing for most standard subscription apps. If you're on a simple subscription model, that's probably the easiest path.

If you’re on Flex Billing though, it looks like there’s still some extra work involved. You’ll probably need to rebuild parts of it on top of Shopify’s Billing API, or do some kind of hybrid setup.

Analytics & App Store intelligence
This is probably the most fragmented part of the migration.

From what I found, Letsmetrix looks like the closest all-around replacement: rankings, competitor tracking, keyword data, review analytics, revenue estimates, etc.

If you mainly care about ASO / keyword research, AppJubilee seems worth a look too.

Aaffiliate tracking
This was one area where I actually found a couple of developer-focused options. Shoffi and PartnerJam both seem to be built with Shopify app installs in mind, which is better than most generic affiliate tools.

One thing I'd verify before choosing any affiliate platform is how attribution works (Partner API, install links, server-to-server events, etc.). A lot of affiliate platforms are clearly built for merchants, not app installs.

Product analytics
PostHog is by far the recommendation I've seen come up the most.
It looks like a great fit for events / product analytics, but if you need more detailed Shopify revenue reporting, especially at the line-item level, I’d expect some custom setup.

Curious what others are moving to. Did I miss any good options, especially for helpdesk or lifecycle email?

Genuinely the fastest way to get installs is just... read your competitors' 1-star reviews. Users are literally writing your roadmap for free.

Been digging through delisted/deleted Shopify app data recently and honestly some of the numbers surprised me.

One app with a 4.9 rating and 211 reviews disappeared from the App Store.
Another had 357 reviews, a 4.6 rating, and had been around for almost 7 years.

And it’s not just a couple random apps.

Over the last 30 days alone, I’ve seen dozens of apps get removed or delisted, including apps that looked pretty established from the outside.

Made me realize that in the Shopify ecosystem, good ratings and longevity don’t necessarily mean an app is safe long term.

I think a lot of merchants only notice how dependent they are on an app after it disappears: workflows break, features stop working, teams suddenly have to migrate fast

As a founder, it also reminds me how fast things move in this ecosystem. Apps disappear for all kinds of reasons: competition, platform changes, acquisitions, burnout, business priorities changing, etc.

I’m curious if other Shopify app founders here have noticed the same thing lately.

P/s: Data source I took from LetsMetrix [Website URL if anyone is interested].

Nobody: Shopify app devs at 2am: opening 67 competitor app listings one by one to track if they changed their pricing

I had shared it in the community before about my tool Letsmetrix https://letsmetrix.com (it tracks Shopify app rankings, competitors and review trends), but still genuinely want to hear any feedback from other devs.

I’m trying to make it useful for people actually building Shopify apps day to day, so would love to know what feels missing, or what part of Shopify app ASO is still painful for you. Pls tell me your experience after trying out Letsmetrix, i would really really appreciate.

Are your users actually using the AI features you built?

I've been tracking app store rankings for a while now, and the growth numbers on AI apps lately are kind of insane. Some of them jumped 400-500+ installs in a single category within a short period, with one hitting over 1,000 total growth across two categories.

But it got me thinking, is this actually people finding value in the AI features, or just the hype cycle doing its thing? Because from talking to a few merchants, the vibe I keep getting is "I tried it once, the output wasn't quite right so I just did it myself" or "I use ChatGPT directly anyway."

I want to know what devs here are actually seeing on their end. Did you ship an AI feature? Is it getting used, or is it mostly just sitting there looking good on the listing? And honestly, what AI use case do you think Shopify merchants actually want vs what we assume they want?

(Data source I get from Letsmetrix)

7 Days in Paris as a Parisian

Hi all, I want to share my last summer's trip to Paris. It was my first time being in the EU, and I gotta say that was an unforgettable experience for me. The pictures were taken by me just randomly on Paris's streets, some tourist attractions like Tour Eiffel (1st pic), Montmartre (2nd & 7th pic), Luxembourg garden (4th & 6th pic), the Seine river (9th pic),

I came to Paris at first with the intention of visiting my best friend, not expecting anything much. After I traveled and experienced the life there for a week, the thought of "settling my life in Paris" just came to my mind haha. I ate, slept, walked, took the trains, watched out for pickpockets, did everything just like a genuine Parisian, not even being scared when going alone (when my friend was at work lol). Of course i did come across some crazy guys on the roads, or even a man intentionally misrecognized me when I was waiting for Flixbus at 12 a.m, but that was not a problem for me. Paris welcomed me with such a gorgeous sunset, so no way I would hate it.

I was amazed at the buildings' architecture to the point that I took photos almost all the time walking on the streets, then I thought it must be lucky to be a French person since you can admire the views every time going to work lol.

Some people might say Paris is overrated, but for a tourist like me, Paris left me with the nostalgia that I cannot fully describe after traveling back to my hometown. And I want to come back there than ever, so now I'm manifesting so hard lol.

The next time I will also travel to the South of France as well, since my friend said the views there are incredibly stunning.

Built a free tool to track Shopify app rankings, competitors and review trends

Hey everyone, I've been working on a tool called LetsMetrix and wanted to hear feedback from you guys.

Honestly it started from a pretty annoying problem: I was helping a developer figure out why their installs were dropping, and there was just no good way to see what was happening. He had to check everything manually.

So I built something to track it properly. What it does:

- App ranking history over time
- Competitor listing and review monitoring
- Keyword insights for your app listing
- Weekly app store snapshot (new apps, review trends)

App link: https://letsmetrix.com

Still lots to improve, so I really appreciate any honest feedback, especially on what's missing or what you'd actually find useful day-to-day.

I’m curious what you think:

- How do you currently keep an eye on competitors?
- Has a ranking drop ever caught you off guard?
- What's missing that would make this actually useful for you?
