Should I contact the dean?
For my CT200 class, the entire thing is online. The professor doesn’t give lectures, no slides, doesn’t make the assignments. Everything is in Ascend education. The only thing that the professor does in the entire class is require you to take a screenshot of your finished labs and quizzes (literally just the notification that shows you’re done) even though everything is auto-graded in ascend and he could just look at the grades in ascend instead of adding an extra stupid step. The assignments are due Fridays and he does not accept late assignments. I did a lab and quiz (and got 100% on both) in ascend on Friday, but I forgot to submit the screenshots. I noticed last night that he put my grades as a 0, dropped my grade from an A to a C-. I reached out explaining the situation with the proof in ascend that I did it on time. This morning he reaches out to say that it would “not be fair to the students who submitted everything on time”. I tried pleading my case and explaining that I had completed all of the work and received a 100% on Friday, as well as stating that my GPA is already low and it is too late to withdraw. He pretty much told me to go fuck myself. What do I do at this point? Should I contact the dean? How would I go about that? I don’t want my GPA to be tanked further because I didn’t submit a fucking screenshot saying that I did my assignment even though you can literally see when I did it.
Update: my advisor responded and said that there’s literally nothing anyone can do because grading is always up to the instructors discretion. I do not believe that
