Laid off in IT and still looking for my next opportunity

Last year, I got laid off on September from IT consulting company. (Company declared bankruptcy). My job title was: Software Developer/Solutions Specialist.

Before that I was working in government as my co-op. I also have experience with web site development.

I am still on the job market and could not find anything. I have 8 years of experience in total + security clearance. What I have done, but no results:

  1. Adjusting my resume for each job position and applying every day.

  2. Contacting recruiters on LinkedIn. (95% of them don’t reply, other one’s who reply saying just to apply on Careers page).

  3. I am registered with different recruiting agencies.

  4. I emailed directly to the companies with my resume, in case if they are looking for someone, they could contact me.

  5. Also applied for junior positions(with my 8 years of experience).

  6. Adjusted my Linkdin profile and set settings “Open to work”.

  7. Reached out to my connections, they do not know anyone in IT field who are currently hiring or will be hiring.

  8. Applied directly on government and company’s websites.

  9. Applying to positions where I don’t meet 100% of the requirements because at this point, I’m willing to learn.

I am looking for a job: Software Developer, QA Tester,/Analyst, application support specialist, database analyst, solutions specialist, web developer, test engineer and anything that is related to that.

I am willing to work full time on contract, permanent positions in Ottawa-Gatineau area or if it’s remote, anywhere in Canada.

I speak only English(no French).

Looking to work 5 days on-site, hybrid or remote.

If anyone here works in IT in Ottawa-Gatineau area or knows of companies/government hiring, I’d be so grateful for any leads. I have years of experience and I’m ready to work. I just need someone to give me a chance.

Thanks

Is this recruiter, job opportunity legit?

Hi everyone, I’d love a second opinion.

A recruiter named Kimberly Argentieri, who says she’s Founder & Co-Owner of AKA Search Group, contacted me through LinkedIn about a Senior QA Lead role in Canada ($120K–$170K CAD, remote + occasional Toronto travel).

I never applied to the company. She contacted me from a Gmail address, not her company email. I asked if we could communicate through her official @akasearchgroup.com email, but she avoided the question and said the search is confidential.
She’s now asking for my resume and screening information.
I contacted the company separately to verify her, but haven't heard back.

Has anyone dealt with AKA Search Group or Kimberly Argentieri? Does this sound legitimate or are there red flags I should be aware of?

Night owl neighbors in condo downstairs

I need advice.
I live in a wood-frame condo. My new downstairs neighbors are quiet during the day, but almost every night between 11 PM to 4 AM I hear bangs, thuds, heavy footsteps and what sounds like furniture being moved. I also smell marijuana through my window at night. In Canada weed is legal, but in condo rules any type of smoking is prohibited, I wrote to condo corp about it, no reply).
The weird thing is they seem active all night but very quiet during the day.
To sleep « better », I put a brown noise and white noise, air purifier working. I tried to sleep with ear plugs, I still can hear them.

Has anyone dealt with neighbors like this? Any tips is appreciated.
