Loud boom near estates/solano Ave?

Hella loud boom at around 6am, woke me up and could feel it shake the house. I want to say a transformer but this isn’t the first time this has happened so his often do transformers go boom? Anyone know?

Replaced backyard lawn, seeking ideas and advice on shaping

Recently replaced lawn with woodchips as seen here. Primary motives:

Foxtails invade in the summer and get in my dogs toes, requiring her to have removal surgery 2-3x per summer. No more.
Watering a lawn in California feels like a waste of precious water resources.
Cost of running sprinklers.

Any tips on websites or softwares you’ve used to shape a backyard? I have a lemon tree I want to plant, what would you put back here? Bushes? A pathway?

My gf wants ducks. Should we get ducks lol
